At this point, and probably for a good year or two now, this fanbase is on the decline. I've already gone through my period of being a part of it. Honestly I had a lot of fun and met a lot of really cool and talented people but it seems that those people were part of a more reasonable subset of the fandom than... well most people. I've been to plenty of MLP cons, seen some really cringy and weird shit, and still somehow managed to have a good time. I guess it was my friends keeping me there more than the show itself because the show really started to get bad after 2 seasons. For me it was more of an excuse to make music than anything else because I never held any interest in the brony culture whatsoever despite actively participating in the musician community for a good 2 years. Most of us left, it doesn't hold our interest anymore and hasn't for a while. It was just a new and upcoming thing and a good place to share ideas, talk music, collaborate and whatnot. I guarantee you when the show ends (which it will soon I imagine) bronies as a whole will fade into obscurity, and it's probably for the best.
I still don't understand stuff like MLP and how it gets mass appeal but I guess I've never liked bandwagons. Sucks when it becomes a radiating orb of society and starts becoming irritating when people around you in day to day life bury themselves and others in it. But I've never really understood bandwagons and internet memes. Guess it's like a snowball rolling down a hill then melting till it snows again and the same thing happens with a different name.
I feel sorry for the Faust fans and non-neckbeards who watch the show just because they like it.
I feel sorry for the Faust fans and non-neckbeards who watch the show just because they like it.
or the target demographic, children especially the ones that end up going to conventions with their parents
Because people are going to label you that either way.
i think most people in their lives manage to go through it without associating their entire existence with a single cartoon show that borders on fetishistic - the only reason the 'brony' label might exist outside of it being self-labelled is because many 'bronies' are so intent on making their love of mlp the central point of the their entire life, similarly to people who want to fuck dragons and wank over drawings of anthropomorphic dogs n shit more often than not have an avatar and/or a title and/or multiple steam groups dedicated to their fetish people enjoying mlp and maybe posting about it a bit in a dedicated thread for it would never garner a label like 'brony' in the same way that people who really really love adventure time, or hotline miami, or any other cult-like piece of pop culture, manage to avoid being labelled
Imagine how insane it would be if Hotline Miami fans were as dedicated as bronies were in fact, that's the whole entire premise of the 2nd game... so
Oh and yeah, Bronies are responsible for this steaming pile of disgraceful shit. [T]http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2013/334/9/e/fallout_equestria___dust_jackets_by_whatpayne-d5md07w.jpg[/T] my brain hurts...
I feel sorry for the Faust fans and non-neckbeards who watch the show just because they like it.
There are some people who would still label a person a neckbearded brony aspie/autist even if their interest in the show is casual at best. As I've said several times before here, these rabid "anti-bronies" are just as pathetic as the rabid bronies they rail against.
I just never understood how people are able to say that with a straight face to be honest, nobody ever seems intent on questioning the ramifications of someone who was a fan of Breaking Bad reproducing.
Point me to a Breaking Bad fan as creepily obsessive as a Brony is. It got me interested in Fallout though, so that's a plus.
