Its a true story, Gordon paid for his rehab 6-7 times but he keeps going back to drugs, when Gordon said it was okay that he could stay at his place he started to steal stuff from Gordon and his wife and was kicked out again.
Gordon went forward once everything went to shit with the whole drama he had in his childhood but Ronnie went backwards.

There was this other person who did a suicide after encountering Ramsay.
It was one of the Hell's Kitchen contestans called Rachel Brown. Not sure which season she was in, but she got pretty far if I recall correctly. Some time after the show she shot herself in the face.
Most of these people who have been on a TV show, which is much like a comptetition, and then killed themselves after they've been dropped or the show ends, are people who have put waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much at stake on the particular show.
Like if you remember the American Inventor episode where was this bullet ball piece of shit of a game and the maker had sold EVERYTHING, just to make that shitty game, which was called shit on the show as well. I don't think he has committed suicide, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was.
