Who the fuck names their kid Hogarth?
this is by far the one of the only movies to ever make me cry I still dislike Kent after all this time :argh:
Who the fuck names their kid Hogarth?
Jennifer Anniston
I'll be honest, I've never seen this movie. The main reason being, an ad for the movie that was played in Australia where they would interview people coming out of the movie and one little kid says "It's better than Star Wars", now me being an avid Star Wars fan just cringed. That one little comment has left a bad feeling in my mouth every time this movie is brought up.
I remember this movie..
I still wished he'd just shot the missile down and then went home with the kid.
I don't think he could control his weapons when he was in "good" mode. Also that ending pissed me off. [sp]You don't kill a character off in such a heroic self sacrifice and then fucking bring them back to life. It doesn't work. Just stay dead FFS.[/sp]

Was I the only one hoping for the military to win in this movie?
Oh man..I love this movie so much... I always cry at the ending..
Brings back memories. :(
Was I the only one hoping for the military to win in this movie?
probably because youre a heartless bastard.
They were going to make a scene with the robot dreaming and explaining a bit how he came to earth. The director (Brad Bird) made The Incredibles too, they had a difficult way to change from 2D to 3D.

I wonder if anyone apart from me has read the books. There was a sequel to 'The Iron Man', but the first and second book were so different to the film it probably wouldn't fit.
This movie is great. I watched it every night for a week while I was in Cuba because it was the only kidy movie in English.
I was mildly surprised when I found out Vin Diesel voiced the giant.
Because the Iron Giant is pretty damn diesel and Vin Diesel is pretty damn diesel. So they go together great.
I watched this when I was 8 or something. Watched it again when we showed it on FPTV a few months ago. It's a great film, REALLY should have received more attention that it did. Warner Brothers had some fucking better-than-Pixar-level gold with this and they let it slide. [editline]10:31PM[/editline] Directed by Brad Bird, who went on to direct The Incredibles.

This movie's awful marketing is one of my top angry "why the fuck did they--" things with films. Another one is the early 90s Simpsons movie that never was. I'm convinced that if they'd made The Simpsons Movie back in the early 90s when the show was still good it would have been one of the greatest classic comedy films ever. Instead, we got a massive rectally traumatic turd.

I mean, he obviously came from space but I think actually showing the planet and stuff is a bit too far. I like to imagine this stuff.
its cool how it puts the signal on the TV though and it gives dean a much better reason to be scared of it
I just had a :wtf: moment. I looked up The Simpsons and ended up reading about Do The Bartman. Guess who directed the music video? Brad Motherfuckin' Bird. I'm scared :ohdear:
