That's pretty cheap, I'd buy it.

I think it's cooler to find it.
It's more work but if you find something it's more rewarding!

If you find it, it's rusty and probably lost all it's wood.
I would want one because you can still fire it! You don't even need a license for it in Belgium.

Yeah that's the only downside here, that its deactivated, but Mauser k98 breaches are not too hard to come by RESTORATION PROJECT HERE I COME!
They have a ton of deactivated weapons on the website, now im not sure how deactivated they are, but if its a firing pin or breach thing then its easy to replace!

Yeah it's not like it is welded shut, so normally you could replace those parts.

In case anyone hasn't mentioned this yet, scavanging for things this way will more than certainly make you a grave plunderer, especially when you find more personal stuff such as helmets, rings etc. Just a thing to keep in mind if you do this, you are most likely intruding on some soldiers last resting place, and if you are looking for a quick buck to sell off such things, any serious militaria dealer with even an inch of self respect wont touch it even with a hundred feet pole.

I've heard stories of people finding things like German and American dog-tags, and then going on adventures to find the family of who it belonged to. Quite amazing really, and if I ever had the chance I think it would be a fantastic thing to be part of.

Well I think it's more preserving history, like archaeology. If you are doing it for money well that's just stupid... I know guys who actually find bodies, they went to the police and gave the soldiers a final resting place and even contacted their families. For me it's not grave robbery.
I don't think I'd ever find anything interesting here in Brazil, sadly
My parents both do this. They've been metal detecting for about 10 years, only thing they've ever found of interest was a gold ring.
I imagine it would be different if you lived somewhere where things actually happened (We live in North Texas)
Also please add to the OP "Please fill in your holes after you dig".
People metal detect in the park near my house and don't do this. I don't know how many times I've tripped over them.

One of the people my parents know has found 12 class rings, and managed to return all but one of them.
Mother of God, that shit looks incredible...

Oh yeah I forgot that one, leave no mess behind and close your holes, thanks!
Hopefully with some luck i will be able to purchase one of 25000 British experimental No. 7 MK II fighting knife. It was designed originally for the STEN smg, but was later adapted for the No.4 Rifle (Lee enfield, MK4) its in amazing condition and was made in 1945, one of the first produced! im very excited for it!
What about the civil war?
Not very likely to find anything outside of battlefields which have already been searched over
Not very likely to find anything outside of battlefields which have already been searched over
Yeah probably, the key is to find a spot that is still clean...

That's awesome, post some pictures if you have it!
I got the one in the OP for only $187. I saw someone selling them on ebay for about $250 and I saw that he had a business, and it was nearby, so I was wondering if it was a shop. So I called it and it turned out he just worked from his house. I started talking to him more and he apparently was going to sell it for me for what he sells them to the wholesale people for. But he was awesome, and decided not to make a profit off of it, sent it to me with 1 day shipping for only $187. Good day.

Where are you from?
The only thing I've ever found was years ago when my family went to Germany on vacation and it was a pretty decent stahlhelm, well at least it looks like it. we did get it into decent condition but I don't know where it went or anything
Here's my tip:
1. get $50 metal detector for xmas or bday.
2. go to playground
3. look for quarters and other coins underneath monkey bars.
4. go to corner store and buy 20 little debbie snacks.
5. massive diarrhea
This seems very interesting, thinking of buying a metal detector right now :v:

what does this have to do with anything haha
Whenever there is a fireworks show, righ after the show ends Kits beach is trolled over by an army of old people with metal detectors. They laugh at you if you didn't pay more than $300 for your metal detector.
I laugh at them for needing Viagra.
