Distance was a kickstarter backed game... Or is that the point?
Distance was a kickstarter backed game... Or is that the point?
Distance is actually good, though.
Is that some S.S.H in the distance bit? I think it is. [editline]13:02[/editline] I'm an idiot, you've got credits at the end :v:
That kickstarter is incredible. Are there actually people defending it or is it buyers remorse?
At one point a friend of the guy in charge leaked that the developer they originally hired ran off with ~$350k, there's no way to verify that but for a long time afterwards people exaggerated the leak more and more until they were straight up saying they had ALL of the kickstarter money stolen, and also that it was somehow causing the infrequent developer updates years after the fact.
That kickstarter is incredible. Are there actually people defending it or is it buyers remorse?
afaik the odd gentlemen (the original devs) took a portion of the kickstarter money originaly given to them (about half of ~700k) and siphoned it into kings quest instead, wp getting the rest of the money then they tried to make a 3d style game, made a studio in nyc, realized that the money wouldn't last for what they had planned (2 games divided into 4 acts) so they shelved the original game & studio then they made a 2d version, which got released sept 14th, was pretty much what the game should have been from the beginning, but it is a bit on the buggy side (delayed for bugfixing my ass) and, personally, slightly short (though they did try to make it replayable) that said it's still a pretty good game (i mean fucking @dril is a writer for this, how could this be bad). too bad the video is still true about many stretch goals not being fullfilled (tbh wp said it would start patching the game & that "linux support is their top priority") overall it's a case where the backers feel pretty robbed because of so much stuff not being delivered in spite of the game being generally decent
They're still planning the 2 games divided in 4 acts with the 2D version.
