Don't think so, I heard that Vanilla Twilght is about the lead singers girlfriend Aleena, who died. It doesn't seem drug inspired lyrics either.
Owl City is not a band I like, but some people do.

I don't really listen to these guys, but my girlfriend does, and she told me thinks about me when she listens to vanilla twilight, so now I cry every time I hear that song lol.
I don't so much like the vocals as I do the tune, beat, and sound of the music. Maybe if the guy had maybe a slightly deeper voice it would be perfect. But I can't complain until I have heard the other songs...
Fireflies is my guilty pleasure. Dunno why, but listening to it is calming. Its my fave out of the rest of the songs,though. Every time its on the Bus Radio, everyone stops to listen and/or sing along. It even got Kidz Bopp'ed.
Owl City is definately a guilty pleasure, along with Lights. They are both so girly yet so calming and catchy.

I'm not at all impressed by him. Cutesy, uninspired lyrics and synthesizers never were my thing.
Maybe I'm listening to the wrong songs.
