Great album. On the topic of Rush, does anyone else think that apart from the title track 2112 isn't that great?

Bump with content Unfortunately, the cover is not 5 star material.

[img_thumb]http://tralfaz-archives.com/coverart/R/rush_movingf.jpg[/img_thumb] One of Rush's finest albums. Side A shines like a diamond, and side B is no different. A 5 star indy album from beginning to end. Another awesome indy album. Granted they are a little mainstream now but I still like every song on it. One of their best! I like the music they are producing now but this album is a classic! Yes I like Korn. Even today. This album is probably the one I like the most. This would go in my top 5 albums of all time list. There is nothing I don't like about it. Trent Reznor is my hero. This is my number 1 album of all time. Well that's it for now. I'll post some more soon.

Alice in Chains To be honest, I would give all Alice in Chains albums five stars. This is just the one I chose to link, I like every song on it, and have listened to forever. Something about Alice in Chains just made me fall in love from the first time I heard would? and every song after that was an adventure. Still love them. death - human First of all: RIP Chuck Schuldiner. Death is in my top 5 bands definitely. I could not decide in what order. Literally every death album I love, once again, this was just the one I decided to post. Death is just amazing. Human is simply a great album, Lack of Comprehension, Vacant Planets, and Cosmic Sea, all being some of my favourite Death songs, though there are no Death songs I do not like. Edge of Sanity - Crimson Crimson. Crimson. Where do I begin? This album blew my mind. The whole album is one continuous song, 40 minutes in length. The musicianship is extraordinary. The vocals, are simply excellent, Dan Swano is a genius, and has some of the best metal vocals, and if that weren't good enough for you, Mikael Akerfeldt guest stars with some vocals a little after the beginning. Dan Swano and Mikael Akerfeldt should be enough for you to go out there right now and listen to it. Too top it off the album has a crazy concept story to it. Look it up. Jeff buckley - grace This album is likely to bring me to tears. The death Jeff Buckley is one of the greatest tragedies of music. This album is simply so full of emotion, and Jeff's vocals are purely angelesque. This album puts me in a very distinct mood that not many albums can achieve. Working on recording covers of Mojo Pin and Eternal Life. If only my voice sounded anything like Jeff's.
I hate to think that Eminem is overrated To be honest all of his albums have been very close, but not quite the Marshall Mathers LP or the Slim Shady LP, the latter in my opinion probably 4.5 stars. Recovery in my opinion was very mediocre compared to Eminems work and sorta a disappointment.

A great post-rock album with a very GY!BE-esque foreboding mood. Perfect music for lying awake in the middle of the night.
Yeasayer - Odd Blood A good experimental rock album that doesn't really rest on one genre, slipping between pop and experimental which is why I like the album so much. I could listen to this album all day long.

Spock's Beard - Snow I only recently discovered this album and upon multiple listenings has quickly become a favourite of mine. It pretty much transcends genre, whilst keeping a unified theme in the most literal sense of the term. It so ambitious, uplifting, and coherent. I think it goes up with The Wall, Tommy, Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory, and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway as one of the greatest concept albums of all time. Also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porcupine_tree_discography And http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opeth_discography Probably quite a few more. Mostly classics like Close to the Edge and Images and Words and lots of Pink Floyd and the like.
Gogol Bordello's Super Taranta! From the deep and thought provoking, some times humorous lyrics, to the hypnotic violin and accordion, gypsy music has never been so amazing. Mr. Bungle's California There is no album like this. From surf-rock, to heavy metal, do-op. This album is one in it own. although it has its faults, one of my favorite albums of all time. Dirt by Alice in Chains. By far one of the heaviest albums I have ever herd. also one of the most depressing. the songs on the album focused on depression, anger, drug use, war, death, and other emotionally heavy topics. It also contains some the bands most famous songs: "Would?", "Them Bones", "Angry Chair", "Rooster", and "Down in a Hole".

Do you remember Christopher Tin? Y'know the guy who created Baba Yetu, aka the Civ 4 theme song, aka the only song written for a videogame to be nominated for a grammy? Well, this album came out in October 2009, and it's a cultural and musical masterpiece. This album is also nominated for a grammy, and for a good reason: This is probably one of the best world albums to be released in the past 10 years. If you are to give any album a listen in this thread, at least give this one a chance. Every song is just as good as Baba Yetu, if not better, in my opinion. It's also a giant cycle of day and night. The beginning of the album is day, the middle is night, and the end is dawn, and if you loop the album it will smoothly go back into Baba Yetu, aka day again.
It was the first album to remind me that music didn't have to be dark and brooding, after 3 years of being an angsty metalhead teenager. If this album was a woman, I'd like to take it out for coffee.

They have a disturbing, chilling, sexual aggression about them, combined with Cave's talent for metaphor and imagery. The grooves on Worm Tamer and heathen child are just amazing
