Same problem here man, buy in-ear headphones, isolate your music completely for yourself :)
I live in Eastern Poland, and I saw only iPod Nano, owned by my classmate.
I also saw iPod Touch 3G in electronics shop, but since it's expensive as hell, nobody wants to buy it.

On the other side, I like listening to music from my mobile phone + headphones.
Noise canceling headphones.
:smug:
I've tried to not think about it but it never seems to help. It's pretty damn hard to force yourself to not be aware of something.
John Cage? What would be so bad about people hearing you blast that. He's very avant garde, yes, but not in an "offensive" way. Now if you were doing one of his contemporaries like Varese, Schaeffer, Ussachevsky, or the like that did shit like musique concrete, I can see you being concerned

Lol, I blast 4'33 everyday. Most people don't seem to mind when I have that on loud as possible......But on a more serious note, I love the Sonatas and Interludes and the Cartridge music. I also like Stockhausen and Enno Poppe.
/Music nerd too.
I don't give a fuck if anyone can hear my music, that's their problem.
It's their problem that you're playing your music loud enough to annoy others?
:jerkbag:
These are mine:

Skullcandy are professionals in this.
I ordered pair of Sennheiser HD555s to replace some other shit headphones that broke.
I honestly cannot wait to show everyone else the joys of open headphones, especially with black metal
I am the same, I have found a volume at which I am 'safe' though.
But once I am alone, walking down a street or something that shit goes on full.
Even though I am not bothered about what people think of my music taste, I feel like I'm annoying people.
There is nothing more annoying that some chav sitting on the back of the bus playing Akon or some shit, at 8am on the way to college.
Happens to me whenever i listen to Lady GaGa..... what?
When I'm really indulged in music, usually on the train, I sometimes suddenly regain full awareness and look around at people to see if they're looking at me funny because I might have been singing to myself without realising.
I hate this feeling HOLY SHIIIIT 2000 posts :woop::woop::woop::woop::woop::woop:
Want to know what's even more annoying? Having friends enter your dorm room and immediately pick up your iPod to look through the songs.
That was the day I introduced them to MC Hawking.
I don't know what listening to music on a train is like, but whenever I'm in my car, I always am very aware about how loud I have my stereo up. I don't even have that great of a sound system, but I always hate it when gangsta's in their Honda Civics put huge ass subwoofers in their car and you can hear their music over yours. I drive with my windows down a lot (air conditioners are lame). So I do it out of courtesy. I don't really give a rats ass about what others think about my music (mostly trance and rock).
Same issue when listening to music, except its with breathing too loudly...
I feel the same way on the bus, I keep taking my headphones out and moving them away from my face to see if I can still hear them.
Also breathing too loudly.
I use $9 Sony ear bud headphones since they had good specifications for their price. I ask multiple people if they can hear it when I'm out and about (only if I know them) and they say no, so I'm convinced.
Couldn't care less if anyone heard my music while I was standing/sitting next to them in a bus or elevator, but shit, not being able to hear anything else but my music makes me think I'm breathing too loud.
wow that's even more weird.
How does fucking everyone have an iPod? They're so expensive. I couldn't afford one.
get some not shitty headphones

I actually have an MP3 player. Got it for Christmas.

Saved up and used birthday money. 80gbs of pure win.
OP, what are you listening to that you don't want other people to hear?
I turn it up loud and don't care.

People have things called jobs, they get money from them.
I shit myself when my phone vibrates
This, once I screamed HOLY FUCK, MY BALLS during a movie and got kicked out :saddowns:
I hate it when some people play music with their phones, on loudspeaker. No headphones, just the phone speakers. What the fuck? Why do people do this?
I'm kinda scared of listening to music in a public place because you're quite unaware of what's around you. Or at least I am, I'm just being paranoid though I guess.
Haha I sat on the bus next to a fat girl the other day who must've have her headphones on inside out. Her music was so loud that I turned mine off because it would've deafened me to make it loud enough to not hear her crappy ass music.
Avatar fits.
How does fucking everyone have an iPod? They're so expensive. I couldn't afford one.
They aren't THAT expensive, which is why a lot of people have them.
I can't relate OP, but I really hate it when people try to talk to you when you clearly have headphones in your ears.
