But that was shooting when it was some distance away from it
Loool. Anyway that was the lost post of the night.
Oh fudge, yeah. It was above your other flying thing, I must have moved it with the ship. :frown: I'll switch it around or you can just void the damage (won't declare till tomorrow).
I will do my declare n stuff later, my head hurts :v:
Well, it may conduct the electricity to it, however it has no way of getting to the ground. Bearing in mind lightning for starters needs a wet environment; we are in a desert. I already said this though, my ships just wouldn't be affected, the electricity has no way to the ground, though I still have the potential to get shocked, if I touch the ground without removing the charge, then as soon as I hit the ground it will have affect :v: . I suppose its a bit unfair, but it is if you know what I mean :v:
They work using rule of cool, and that makes them highly effective. declare shadow!
Any sufficiently advanced PW technology is indistinguishable from complete made up bullshit
The VTOL's engines burst into flames and it makes a sharp jab straight at the building below it. The dropship flies off to the other side of the city leading a large group of drakes behind it. Was it really going to land, or was it just a diversion?
You not think it might be better to actually produce your ships rather then pulling them out of no where? :v:
Why would I produce huge corvettes on the planet's surface when I (supposedly) have them in space above it? I only bring things in every four or five turns anyways. (Also it's boring, we're meant to build fast, and I don't want to waste time doing effects that probably won't look as good anyways.)
4 cheap stupid soldiers come straight from basic training. Worthless, but at least they can shoot.
I need Cat to post...
If they don't post for ages just go, don't wait for them.
But I'm firing a RPG and tank at him.
How long has it been? If it's over two days I'd say just blow him up. :v: [editline]2nd February 2011[/editline] There isn't much he can do in terms of defence anyway.
Sounds good to me.
I'm not gonna be able to declare and post here until I get some C&C and ideas on my ACU, since that's what's going to be building the base.
Declare on me and Ross [editline]2nd February 2011[/editline] The now-wounded soldier smartly hops backwards as machine gun fire shatters the glassy surface beneath his feet, releasing a fountain of pressurised enzymes that would have pretty literally eaten him alive. A severed tube flails madly, adding a spray of crimson droplets to the deadly green mist. Without this vital pipeline the cannon can only fire once or maybe twice before becoming completely unusable, which ir prompty does. Though both of its right hand weapon systems are now disabled, the Gunship would actually function perfectly well even if the entire right hand portion of its body was destroyed, requiring only the centralised sphere to stay aloft. While the large cylinders at the bottom resemble engines they are actually simple devices for spraying acidic fluid over everything below. All the lift is provided directly by the pilot's brain. Meathook stares sadly down at the decapitated amputee below him, apparently the machines they face are not afraid to use anti-tank weapons on infantry. Unlike his commander, he doesn't share the view that they are all disposable and can be pointlessly slaughtered on suicide missions, but unlike his commander he is not in charge. He sees things like this a lot. Fortunately he is able to cheer himself up by grabbing an enemy machine gun with his psychic powers. [editline]2nd February 2011[/editline] "Not sent those troops yet?" "Uh... not yet Mistress. We were uh... not quite prepared to engage an enemy so soon." "Eh, I don't mind leaving old Meathook to squirm for a while, but if he dies it'll be your fault!" "..." "Let's talk about what you HAVE done then, how is the clonery coming along?" "Oh, we have made good progress there! Yes. The tanks are done, the spawning pool is already being filled... We just need to set up some processing machinery and a couple of outfitters and we should be all done." "And what about the Angels? Maggot freezes at the mention of the last word, suddenly overcome with dread. He knows that he isn't going to like what he hears next. "...Angels, mistress? I don't remember you mentioning... those... before." The commander grins, obviously enjoying his discomfort. "Now now, you didn't think you were just going to be growing yourself a little personal army did you? Oh no, this dump is slated to become a fully fledged vat planet, complete with training facilities, soul grinder... the works! Why did you think we sent you down with an extra? You're going to start growing us some more, and I expect to see our first new Paladin all grown up and ready for battle within oh... the next three months or so. "A... Paladin... Aren't those... extremely dangerous? I mean, even after training? I've never even seen an untrained one!" "Well we do use them as siege breakers don't we? And yes, they are extraordinarily dangerous. A terror to behold! Fifty feet of insane, uncontrolled fury plated in black armour and given the best weapons we can produce! Which is why you're the one sitting down there and not me, have fun!" The screen flickers and turns black. Maggot considers just killing himself now and saving time.
Oh gods. You're constructing a Paladin Mech? Finally. :D
I'm at least pretending to I'll need to resprite it first because the old one is shit and can't move
Bloody hell... Declare Self. [editline]2nd February 2011[/editline] The drone stumbles backwards, the gun ripped from it's unwilling arm. Sparks fly as the drone in the back fires needlessly at the airborn Amputee- as it is ripped apart by the AA cannon's blast, which was not anticipating a meatbag to be in the way. A slender strand of plasma makes it through the complete ketchupy overload of the grunt's systems and punches through the exposed wiring on the base of the Amputee ship. The wounded dropship takes the hit directly to the cannon. The alien substance races through critical systems, blowing out wires and control nodes, and completely deactivating the left engine holding it airborn. With a groan, it begins to flip, as the second engine goes into overdrive. The bolts flying towards the base's terraces threaten the drone reinforcements pouring down the sides. One attempts to EM a bolt, hopefully disabling the charges before it hits.
Getting slower and slower each day
Would help if half the players weren't banned. [editline]2nd February 2011[/editline] declare chao [editline]2nd February 2011[/editline] The ships move over the adjacent territory, but pick up a familiar energy symbol. Uncommon orders trickle in from command, and contrary to habit, the group is not to remain neutral, nor is it to become hostile. The Black Temple, champions of humanity, would likely have a warm disposition to the Homo sapien side of the Taidan.
Champions. Phht. Black Temple locked up the remaining humans years ago. Also Metal I was totally expecting your guys to go apeshit on my drones as soon as they saw them sorry.
Don't worry they would Just they'd have taken a minute or two to establish what they were first What I'm slightly more worried about is the fact that all of these factions I've never met suddenly know who I am ): Declare on me and Ross [editline]3rd February 2011[/editline] The gunship makes evasive maneuvers, rising upwards and spinning 180 degrees to avoid the plummeting enemy craft and present its undamaged side to the remaining dropship. It's basically defying gravity anyway, so moving from a dead stop to instantly blast directly upwards doesn't actually require a great deal more effort. Propelled by its still-functioning jetpack, the amputee corpse zooms skyward. "Damn it all, where are those reinforcements?" [editline]3rd February 2011[/editline] "Hey, it's those flying bastards again!" The sudden re-appearance of his illustrious leader makes Maggot jump, booting him out of a terror-induced stupor at the thought of what his new mission actuall means. Figuratively of course, he actually couldn't even stand up on his mutilated legs if he wanted to, let alone perform acrobatics. "Uh... they are, Mistress?" "God, what are you, stupid? How can I be keeping better track of what is going on in your tiny plot of land from UP HERE IN SPACE than you are from where it is PLAINLY VISIBLE TO THE NAKED EYE. Oh wait, YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE EYES." "Many apologies Mistress, I was... distracted... What do you want us to do about them?" "Do I have to order you to do EVERYTHING? You're already about to launch, right? Just send the Temple up to have a little chat first. I SUPPOSE we'd better find out what they are before we start shooting, but get the weapons charged ready anyway. "Uh guys? Are those reinforcements coming any time soon?" "Shut up Meathook" The Western Temple ponderously heaves itself out of the ground, leaving a few stragglers hurrying to catch up before it leaves. It slowly starts to rotate on its axis and hover upwards towards the group of aircraft that have just arrived.
I love Chao's effects. They may not be detailed... but there is something cool about them.
Declare me. [editline]3rd February 2011[/editline] The Nates dive on the new vessel, firing a barrage of Acidic needles. The Stuka Drake drops the Bloater, while firing Bio-plasma at the vessel. The carnage from the melee is nothing more then a pile of bodies, except for the lone Swarmer the survived, it rushes the first thing it sees.
Come on Hobbesy, get to the Capitol building! :buddy:
declare chao + shadow [editline]3rd February 2011[/editline] The dropship screeches past the Xenos to the other end of the desecrated capitol building A Thermobaric Missile Bot steps outside, on the dropship's door, and its metal glistens and reflects light as it fires a missile towards the largest of the group, its sensor eye guiding up past the back of the ship and towards its target. The Multi-Gun Corvette rumbles in from the West while the rest of the convoy comes to an abrupt stop. The Temple's frequency is detected, and all channels be them radio or telepathic are opened for communication.
The soldiers, about to clear the doorway, look up at the dropship that has appeared above them. The officer fumbles for his radio.
Declar Shadow. [editline]4th February 2011[/editline] and Me. [editline]4th February 2011[/editline] As the ship explodes, it flies towards the building, as various parts quickly set on fire, as it enters the building it's sheer force pushes parts away. The other ship, taking heavy damage from the pincers and claws of the flying beasts, immediately ejects upwards, causing the ship to turn and the plasma from the rear-engine to spread up, igniting the back of the ship. As it begins to burn, it rams into a few more of the pests. On the ground things aren't looking good at all. The ground-commander and what few of the forces he had left escaped, but the left ants are slaughtered, pushing in bullets where they can to no avail as their brothers burn and bleed. The ground-commander and his assistant, with a few other ants, return in their drop-ship. They immediately fly towards the hanger to seek repairs. Three portals are constructed in the empty room, and production of the robo-roaches is ended as a fault is found within their blueprints. They are shot out of the atmosphere and will never return. A cloning ship is made in it's place, and four ants from the new portals get in. An idle drop-ship moves towards the portals and puts down its ramp, waiting for reinforcments. The two drop-ships outside drop-down once more, as ants come from the ground portal. "Welcome, allies. This is the staging facility for ants on this planet. I see your forces are entering the infested land, commander. We will aid you when our ships are repaired; but it is a slaughter zone down there - be careful."
Declare WM. Time for Greeks to kick some ass. [editline]4th February 2011[/editline] Taken my bit. Making map rite nao.
