Honestly all of this doesn't surprise me from this idiot who thought World at War was a super patriotic America-Fuck-Yeah game.
That wasn't his argument, implicitly or explicitly. His point was that World at War marked a drastic change in the very point of a Call of Duty game, and contained some typical racism about the Japanese that was common in war propaganda.
But at the same time, I recognize the need to misrepresent the ideas of anyone who dares question deeply held narratives - how dare he criticize something I enjoy. That's tantamount to crime. Especially if he so much as questions the motivations of Gamergate - which is something he hammers on only lightly in the Postal video - but still, how could he? GG stands atop a pyramid of moral perfection and can do no wrong; the only wrongs are those done by radical feminists who want to make our games sanitized and politically correct.
No one has even kind of brought that argumentation level up except him, and he probably did it for views; rather funny that he hasn't mentioned GG very often except in direct relation to the game he hates most in all the world yet still gives a review on, a review in name only where he completely goes off the fucking rails 10 minutes in.
That would be like me giving an objective review of CoD/BF, when there's no point.
No one has even attempted to cast postal in the light you're intimating it was/is.
Your "theoretical" argumentation is about as salient and germane as his last 45 minutes.

The sarcasm is so heavy here, that whatever point you're trying to make is being completely masked by it.
I can't take you seriously if you think he only hammered "lightly" on Gamergate.
I'm not fan of Gamergate. I'll go so far as to say I completely disagree with it, but that doesn't mean a completely immature, detached and highly subjective attack should go unwarranted.
Granted, he never claims these are facts, but with such an obnoxious confident delivery, he ain't far away from that.
From seeing what his typical reaction is [and his 'fans], most counter arguments are met with either a brash 'We'll have to agree to disagree' [a copout route to go in the first signs of conflict] or, and I quote: "That's why I said I had more respect for Destructive Creations, they actually don't give a shit what people think of their products." This is a hypocritical route to go, when gamers constantly beg for more interaction with the developers.
The biggest thing that roped this all in was the spoiler regarding Paradise Lost, a new DLC for a 12 year old game and the shit flinging of Noah in attempts to undermine their career.

He only mentions GG when nearing the close of an hour-and-a-half discussion of Postal. One can't exactly accuse him of making it a centerpiece of the video.
So, I'll make my point more clear: being an opponent of Gamergate, or even moderately skeptical of it, means that you will be strawmanned or otherwise misrepresented. It seems almost a religious obligation among the GG crowd to do so in one way or another. It seems that GG has, to a certain extent, become a sacred cow amongst this community and many others.
I'm not saying that I necessarily agree with his points about Postal or GG, but this is just an observation worth noting.
My post is an aside, not a counter, and secondly, you should rewatch the video because he's listing a litany of sins and then tying them together, I'll leave you to guess what platform he's tying them together with.
The best part of that is using jack thompson as the antithesis in his initial framing and then positing an hour of "maybe jack thompson was right after all".

I get what you're saying here, I agree with a fair amount of it, but the length of the coverage is a bit of a side issue. When I listen to the actual words he speaks, they're extremely condescending and immature in nature.
I appreciate everyone clearing up all of the information presented in the video. I've heard of Postal but never played it and I'm not familiar with RWS at all so this was all pretty insightful.
The video is right about Shaefer though...
Postal 2 is a game about offending people. Its about being counter-culture and challenging what people deem acceptable. What people don't seem to understand is that its no long the soccer mom and pastor crowd leading the pro censorship movement that claims games cause horrible social behaviors, its leftwing PC police.
When he says "what if a muslim played this" he is being kinda bigoted. I say this because he treats them as some kind of monolith. My muslim friends have probably not played Postal but they make terrorist jokes and can appreciate their culture being mocked (terrorist isn't a culture anyway). People like the guy that made this video treat minorities as some special humans with no agency that need to be coddled and its sick.
The first time I heard of Postal 2 actually was when a Muslim friend of mine talked about it (in a positive way).

Idk man, guy in our year who's Muslim was playing Cards Against Humanity and black card was the one that is something along the lines of "what caused america's downfall" and someone played "the unstoppable tide of Islam" and he just walked out the room, apparently proper offended. I wasn't there, I don't have a social life but that's what I hear. Point being, not everyone can take 'racist' jokes and appreciate them for what they are.

If you get upset and offended over your religion being portrayed in a negative way in a game, you're kinda being silly.

people make fun of the ethnicity associated with the religion more than the religion itself
I agree with you guys, just saying some people clearly don't. My friend said that because of that if he was playing CAH with this guy he'd go out of his way to offend him just because of how much people getting offended by CAH pisses him off. I kind of agree with my friend.
