The automatic entrance of Jane certainly seems appropiate for an Alpha. The artifact interaction had not been added yet, so it just sent her in by default.
as someone said, beta, alpha, whatever. It doesn't matter what sburb is its just an entry way into the "game" which is more or less just universe procreation
Not to mention that all Dave had to do to enter was sit on his ass and wait. My money's more on the tree not bearing fruit symbology.
Yeah, seems like Jane's confusion was an indicator that the Kernelsprite should have been prototyped for successful entry. When prototyped, the kernel sprite splits into two halves of a kernel and one sprite, which stays behind. The kernel halves go separate ways, one to Derse for its respective prototyping tower, and one to Prospit for its tower.
The towers receive the prototyping info and warp out the changes to all Dersites and Prospitians, notifying them that a player has entered the game. Without a Sprite, there's no indication anyone entered. Seems like that would be a standard feature from the beginning.
i love how act 6 brought back the sense of wonder and excitement that i had during acts 1-4 that kind of died off a little during act 5
say what you will about the direction of homestuck but i love this
oh
fuck

The wonder probably died in act 5 due to the fact we had a good idea of what was coming and the general direction. with this we finally have no idea what is going to happen, other than that the original kids are going to come through at some point.
the original kids are going to come through at some point.
Specifically, just over a month from now
what makes you say that
what makes you say that
April 13th
what makes you say that
We're about to hit the 3 year anniversary of homestucks start, and how long was it until the kids join the session?
I'm assuming anyway.
[editline]8th March 2012[/editline]
Damn ninjas.
If not the 13th, sometime around then.
Welp, when the old kids DO come through, I'm going to be waiting with football flags and a giant #1 glove. The only new character I like so far is Jake.
I honestly cant wait to see what aesthetic differences hussie will make, if any.
aesthetic differences
Was this something he stated? If so, what did he mean by this?
looking like their sprite modes will be more or less the same
john needs a con air mullet though
NEEDS
I honestly cant wait to see what aesthetic differences hussie will make, if any.
The reset kids are the age the old ones'll be, and they use the same child sprites. If anything we'll just have more heromode and people flipping out over chests again.
By the way I just remembered, as the game exists outside any sort of continuity in the scratch universe, Jane won't be waiting around for years in the session because the game will just sync up them entering with how they perceive the timeline.

ye considering their dreamselves are all synced up it makes sense
the incipisphere's timeline exists almost entirely independantly from the universe's
so how did Jane get into the game without biting any apples
Crazy Thought: What if Dirk and Roxy are already in the medium? That would explain the crazy amount of houses and buildings around Roxy's house and the support beams only holding up Dirk's apartment. No clue what's going on with Jake though.

nah theyre still on earth
dirk's city was flooded and roxy's mansion was put into some kind of chessboard complex
I know I'm months late on this, but since the kids are supposed to arrive in three years, that means they'll be coming on April 13, 2012.
That'll be a fun day.
so how did Jane get into the game without biting any apples
Shit like this probably happened because its alpha.
Like the timer saying 1:11 instead of 4:13.
More arc numbers for fuck's sake
Shit like this probably happened because its alpha.

that is probably the worst suggestion of correlation i've ever read
its also a good thing to remember that even before the hostile takeover that began when jane entered the medium, the condesce seems to have had some unseen political hold on the world
as evidenced by how jane was so very sure that betty crocker had died long ago, and how dave's sbahj movies were subtly trying to tell the people of earth about the condesce's rise to power and upcoming takeover
i'm betting that hellmurder island, being in Jane's relative present, was a breeding ground of sorts for alternian fauna in preparation for the takeover
I find it hilarious how Hellmurder Island has been mentioned like once and it's stuck as the name for the place.

they called it that a couple of times in act 6 i think
