I've been using Ableton Live but honestly it's not the simplest thing to work with, might switch to FL Studio and see how it goes.
nexus if you want to use premade synths with variations
there's a whole stigma behind using pre-made synths but honestly nobody here is doing professional level music production and the skill comes with creating a melody or harmony, not creating a synth. regardless of its large library of preset sounds, nexus is still an incredibly powerful vst plugin
Do you guys want me to do lyrics and such for the beats you create?
no thanks i roll instrumental
my friend had a cool idea for album art, basically a skull with one of those double beer hats but instead of beer it's two bongs
I'm in, I can play guitar, bass and a little bit of piano, If anybody wants any parts done I'm up for it.
i'm not too great with funk music yet so is it okay if I use this collab as an excuse to try to get better/finish a funk song?

if anyone is able to lay down a guitar riff that'd be amazing too, I'm up for making any sort of electro/funk track with some nice guitar like:
0:18 god damn so nice
and by electro funk I mean breaking into something like in the video at 0:33 with funky synths + guitar

Those are some lyrics for the beat cruma has above. Not sure if anyone likes them, or if they go with the song.
Here's my rendition of how they should be sung. I have a voice recorder, that's it, so bear with it.

why don't you? you're meant to be a rapper, after all. it's a collaboration in all senses, meaning if it's a rap beat we all work on it, don't just post all your instrumentals with "someone rap for me".
someone (other than me) needs to actually organize some sort of chat.

cuz like ive said, all i have is a shitty built in laptop mic, just tryin to contribute. nevermind.
we need to organize who's doing what, i suppose
Okay well I can play guitar and ukulele pretty dece, and am down to rap and sing even though I suck dick at it (and have been sick for a few days lol). Soupman seems down for beats. I'll collabo with anyone, or do solos, its whatever.
Drop me a beat and I'll turn up the heat with my lyrical flow 'cause my goal is to blow your mind and rock your soul, I think I've got this whole rap shit down, my sound's sound, sometimes I hear my own shit being played in town, your frowns are the crown to my king status, got plans to blow that shit off and put smiles on yo faces.
(ill rap if someone gives me beats)

(oh and itll be shit but i'm gonna tryhard anyway)
if anyone can play an instrument (and record it at good quality), add me on steam
i can play the uh
the
fuck
reviving the fuck out of this, where do we start
i have two acoustic guitars, a stratocaster, a ukelele and a shitty headset mic
what do i do
i got a guitar and bass, also ton of studio crap.
You should record a song with basic riffage , and loads of ukelele.. i will add the bass and see if i can fit in some guitar
i may do this if i can figure out noise removal properly in audacity
get a noise gate or something, audacity is really shitty at doing that
get a noise gate or something, audacity is really shitty at doing that
may end up just buying a decent mic with all the trimmings at some point
we should try out Ohm Studio, its free on steam

You got a tab or something for that? I've always wanted to play something pretty chill but never know what exactly to play
add me on steam
I would but haven't been on in so long and can't be fucked to get it again.
You got a tab or something for that? I've always wanted to play something pretty chill but never know what exactly to play
That was all improvised my friend, so no tab, but the scale I used is a natural minor.

It takes a bit of practice to play something on the fly, but you gotta learn scales and shit and practice by playing along with your favorite songs.

I've always wanted to know how to solo over scales, chords and shit but I've never figured out exactly where to begin learning. I never took a music class, I learned everything I know through my brother and through the internet, messing around etc over the years. Any clue where I should go? :v:
Hmm, I can't point to any one place to go but the way I learned was learning lots of guitar solos from different songs to get a feel for what kinds of riffs and techniques were being used. Then I learned to memorize scales on the fretboard (once you know it for one key, you know it for all of them since you can just slide the scale shape up and down the fretboard.) Then, I just started playing these scales to different songs according to the keys of the song I was playing to (for example if the song was in b minor, I'd play with the b minor scale. It takes a while to recognize the key of a song.) Eventually you get a feel for how to be a little more melodic in your playing as you practice.
And yeah I learned from the internet too, watching youtube, reading shit on ultimate guitar.
I've got a decent microphone for singing and I play piano and synth so if anyone needs any of that let me know, I'm still not sure what I want to do for this album.
