Yeah, on the one hand it's nice that there's a big animated movie that isn't just for kids, but on the other hand it's a hard R dirty comedy.

I just wish there was some middle ground between "kiddie fun times" and "raunchy sex comedy" for animation, either on TV or in the movies.

South Park movie was made for $21 million which is sorta close to the [url=http://kylesanimatedworld.blogspot.com/2015/11/cheap-sausage-seth-rogen-talks-budget.html]supposed $30 million this cost[/url] (can't really find any official new sources for this tho so idk). As far as CG animation goes tho it is the first R rated film apparently.

My only problem is the same with most R-Rated animated films, and that's they use swearing and sexual stuff to get their R-Rating instead of good writing.

Other than that, it looks OK.

To be fair, the sections we saw were all situations where it would be perfectly reasonable to respond with a tirade of swear words. The reviews all being positive are a good sign, though who knows if they're real or not.

A lot of the humor seems overly forced in my opinion. Most of the jokes in this trailer don't have a set up beyond cute CGI food characters saying "Fuck"/"Shit" every few seconds. I mean, I'm no prude or anything, but I think they should at least focus more on setting up more jokes with actual set up/pay off.

it was mostly for a trailer gimmick i think, to throw you a curveball, sell you on the "it's a kid-looking movie with a grownup twist" thing

if you ask me the market's design could have been a bit of a nod, with the super high arched glass ceiling and general feel to the introduction. I've never been in a supermarket with windows/skylights all, save for those weird opaque plastic square bubbles at walmart but hey maybe this is a common thing for markets out in LA or something

Either way it was enough that when I saw the trailer with no context as to who was directing, I was dreading it being some sort of attempted food fight revival til it got to the meat of it all
