I doubt that it's really 75%, but to a part he's correct, I see a lot of comments by people who appear to not have read the thread/news/whatever.

I myself usually read the more it's interesting, if it's a really fucking long article with no actualy interesting stuff in it then I just read the top lines, skip, read a few comments and leave. If any off the comments appear to be interesting then I read the whole OP again to ensure what the heck they were talking about, THEN I may comment.
