Is that actually still Kratos? So is this set after GoW 3 or what? Even still looks stunning. Also was that a giant fucking snake at the end in the valley? Looked like scales to me, maybe jormungandr or something?
I must be blind, coz at what time is the giant snake? I literally cant see it
another point to it being the kid you play as later is that the scene where the kid actually hits the deer with the bow is player controlled
It's already confirmed that you play as Kratos but the kid follows you for the whole game. You instruct the kid through a single button, and its use depends on the context. Both Kratos and his kid get XP for doing stuff.
not as interesting or well known many more games use norse mythology
I'd say that makes it the perfect opportunity to do it then. Egyptian mythology is virtually untouched but still has a lot of potential. In the context of God of War, the story could have revolved around the Osiris myth via Set tricking Kratos into helping him kill Osiris to usurp power. Furthermore, Set's plans may span further by assisting Apep swallow the sun (i.e. Ra). Horus could get involved wanting vengeance on Kratos and various other gods could play a part. What if, perhaps, Apep succeeds in swallowing Ra at the end of the game, which sparks the Fimbulwinter, The Wild Hunt, and inevitably the Ragnarok in future games. Hell, just make an Egyptian themed spin-off of God of War, following Horus slaughtering all the gods. I'm not complaining, per se (For one I have never played God of War, but I watched the whole story on Youtube and certainly like seeing mythology in media). I've loved learning about all kinds of mythology, but Ancient Egyptian myth and culture has always captivated me for some reason. I believe there is potential to make something interesting out of it and it's a shame others don't feel the same. When they do tap into that potential they butcher it like they did with the Gods of Egypt film. Still, it will be interesting to see what they do with the Norse mythology.

That'd be more than okay, that'd be fucking awesome. Instead of getting a variety of followers to choose from, you get your son and you can raise him how you see fit.

Calling it now they will release a sequel to this with the kid all grown up and killing Kratos as the last boss :v:

Hope it pays well to take arrows from the kid you're looking after.

i thot the old gameplay style was a lot of fun. kinda bummed to see it go. that camera ingame looks really claustrophobic too. it looks like itd play 10 times better if it was pulled out a little bit with a wider fov
Can we appreciate the crowd going apeshit literally the millisecond Kratos is revealed?
anyone els notice that it goes from winter to spring in mere seconds
Can we appreciate the crowd going apeshit literally the millisecond Kratos is revealed?
That has to feel good. Especially amidst quiet, awkward rooms or active disapproval, for the whole room to go absolutely ballistic so quickly must feel fantastic.
I must be blind, coz at what time is the giant snake? I literally cant see it
As the camera pans up at the end you can see something huge moving down below, originally I thought it might just be snow with weird normals but it's kinda moving? Edit: This thing I could be way off but it looks like a scaley thing to me.
It looks like it moves a bit but I think the scaley thing is just weird snow.
It looks like it moves a bit but I think the scaley thing is just weird snow.
I feel like it looks too much like scales to just be weird snow, if I had to guess I'd say it's either just some random giant snake or it's supposed to be Nidhogg.
If it actually is a giant snake, it's probably Jormungandr, the snake so big it could wrap itself around the earth to eat its own tail. In Norse mythology it's one of Loki's children, it and Thor fight to the death in Ragnarok where Thor kills it but is poisoned and dies immediately afterwards.
