• (ASMR) - That tingly sensation from your head to your spine triggered by sound

I usually get this while listening to instrumental music, I also can't believe I just watched 12 minutes of a guy messing around with a miniature zen garden.
I didn't know there was a name for this. I get this all the time. I LOVE unboxing videos where the person unboxing doesn't speak, for example. I also remember watching some video where a british guy was explaining some basic physics concept and it was probably the most relaxing thing I ever heard. Wish I bookmarked that video.
http://www.youtube.com/user/SOUNDsculptures?feature=g-user-u You guys will love this channel as much as I do. No longer do I have to search high and low for a good unboxing video or a paper gun video, this channel hits the spot.
I just love these little holophonic things. I use them when I go to sleep, when I have downtime... It's kind of like one of those things that everyone notices, but never talks about. And that blog matched it all to a freaking T
If anyone can find a video with a male soft-spoken English accented voice, please post. Those seem to get me the most, and I'm not sure why. (I feel like the weirdest person talking about this)
I do enjoy the soft hum of machinery. Why I recall just laying back in a chair on a nice summer day and listening to the sound of a construction site nearby.
i do get this every now and then from various things, usually something else another person is doing. im surprised i never looked into it, i guess i also just thought it was one of those feelings. once i think i saw a thread of someone getting said experience from watching people open boxes on youtube and ended up watching people open xbox's and other electronics for a long time.
I got it after watching this in class yesterday with a pair of headphones in. No doubt that it was this "ASMR" phenomena. I have never heard a man's voice quite like the composer's of this song; smooth as silk.
I remember this video I watched showing some guy unboxing a video card made this happen so hard I wish I favorited it
What is this thread, this is weird, you're all freaks
Reminds me of the Virtual barber Shop. I can't stand the feeling down my spine when I get my hair cut, makes me want to flinch bad.
What is this thread, this is weird, you're all freaks
I would agree if it was sexual, but it's not. As far as I see, your the freak for one, not experiencing this, and two, being an asshole.
I only get this when I listen to music that is so impressive musically that it even makes me smile and almost cry when I listen to it.
I get that too! Like this for example Especially the intro
thats cool, but then again, its not asmr
The only bad thing about having ASMR is when you try and explain it to people who ask they always assume it's something sexual. I use my ASMR to sleep mostly. [editline]16th May 2012[/editline]
I get that too! Like this for example Especially the intro
That's fisson, buddy. Eargasms? Man I live for this shit That's when you know you're in love with a piece of music <3
this channel has some pretty cool videos. I started here, because I still didn't know the proper name for that sensation. [editline]16th May 2012[/editline] also made a bunch of recordings for a school project, but I dont think its worth uploading, too much background noise [editline]16th May 2012[/editline] oh yeah and this one oh good god..
I got this feeling reading this
Huh, this is interesting but I can't feel any of the sensations you're describing. These type of sounds are relaxing somewhat, but I've never had a physical reaction to it.
high pitched beeps from old computer systems (like old ass 90s computers) make me completely zone out and its almost as if reality gets kicked out of my body. its some crazy shit
I love that feeling, especially when someone runs their hand through my hair, feels amazing.
I mostly get it when I'm watching a really good movie or TV show. I got it a lot while watching Doctor Who.
I didn't know this had a name some people's voices do this to me very pleasant but hard to listen
I only get this from music. It's one of the main reasons i listen to so much music. I don't think I've ever felt anything quite as good. I didn't know it happened to others as well (whenever ive talked about it everyone just looked bewildered) I also get it occasionally when i see a woman I find very attractive (I go completely numb when this happens)
Wonder what that was. I can practically do it at will.
Wonder what that was. I can practically do it at will.
Same. Been able to do it on command for as long as I can remember.
I would agree if it was sexual, but it's not. As far as I see, your the freak for one, not experiencing this, and two, being an asshole.
it was a joke man ;(
Monotone machine noises do this to me, noisy washing machines, cooler fans, cement mixers and such.
For some reason I have always like softly touched my face, sort of tickling my face when I hear sounds such as these, just zone out and automatically do it..
Shit, so thats what that feeling is. I get this all the time for whatever reason, and it is wonderful, but I've always wondered about it.
