[QUOTE=Djokson;35983381]Monotone machine noises do this to me, noisy washing machines, cooler fans, cement mixers and such.[/QUOTE] My room is right next to the kitchen so I love when the washing machine is on at night
[QUOTE=KaylaB;35956264]I have the opposite of this. Occasionally, these sounds are agonizingly painful, although they elicit no reaction 99% of the time.[/QUOTE] Curling strips of paper with scissors. Gets me everytime. I literally cover my ears and run out of the room going "LALALALALA" because it just creeps me out.
I get this when someone explains the human body, particularly the human brain. It's not always pleasant for me.
Are you guys talking about the feeling when you scratch a chalkboard or is that frisson?
[QUOTE=Clementine;35983195]it was a joke man ;([/QUOTE] You've lost your chance. Now get out of my sight.
[QUOTE=Hullu V3;35955966]I only get this when I listen to music that is so impressive musically that it even makes me smile and almost cry when I listen to it.[/QUOTE] Agreed, this is when it most effects me.
I get this from soft spoken individual attention the most, as well as a bit of the "completing a diligent task" bit. Needless to say, I actually really like going to the doctor's office.
bob ross is the asmr king
I'm feeling it right now, listening to some of the videos in the OP. I tend to get the feeling in my chest/abdominal region rather than the back of my head, though. I think the first time I ever had an ASMR experience was when I was in Kindergarten, and the school principal was visiting our classroom. At the time, I was worried I wasn't doing my classwork well enough, but he came by and assured me that everything was going to be okay, and I felt so much better and more relaxed after that. [editline]18th May 2012[/editline] And now my dog's loud, incessant barking just ruined the moment. :v:
I got them everytime I heard Skyrim's theme song. I'm not even kidding. EVERY BLOODY TIME.
I get that feeling when I hear the elements- such as the wind and rain lashing against the windows. It's sort of comforting, so I like storms.
Soft voices do it for me, whether it's speaking or singing. [video=youtube;7iQQGBfbB0k]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iQQGBfbB0k[/video] [video=youtube;ERaH2MPihbI]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERaH2MPihbI[/video]
this does it for me [video=youtube;s727hZ_VU9Q]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s727hZ_VU9Q[/video] also this [video=youtube;HV8-Ww1CT6s]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HV8-Ww1CT6s[/video] hnngh
[video=youtube;wT1XuB95qMk]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wT1XuB95qMk[/video] This with headphones on. Especially the last part with the hose. I get it basically when one of these pleasured sounds sound like they are directly behind me or right next to my ear. They don't work otherwise.
[QUOTE=Dbuhos;36005206]I got them everytime I heard Skyrim's theme song. I'm not even kidding. EVERY BLOODY TIME.[/QUOTE] Thats more than likely a different effect called frission
There are a couple of things in music that do it to me. When the music cuts out in a song, for example at 0:42 of this video [video=youtube;JbXLp2z6xL4]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbXLp2z6xL4[/video]. The only way I can describe it is like an audio version of the moment in Cloverfield when they're on the roof at the party and debris starts raining down so they run back into the apartment with the camera cutting out sporadically. Scratching is another thing that does it. [video=youtube;dyp-597j7rU]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyp-597j7rU[/video] This song too.
I get this feeling from impressive sounding cars or planes. Music, videos, not so much.
[video=youtube;vVn4c0woig0]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVn4c0woig0[/video] AWw yeah, scratch me right there-- aww there we go... Video that triggers the most with me so far.
I just listened to the salad video expecting nothing, but got the craziest feeling that felt like an internal pressure moving from the lower rear part of my skull to my upper back. Also I have a mild headache similar to the one you get when you have a cold now.
That feeling when your lying on a bed with a girl and shes moving her hands on your body. Shit its a lot of ASMR right there. [editline]19th May 2012[/editline] Well i didnt want this to be a page king :(
I get the feeling when I listen to the hum of a florescent lamp, but I can't find any recordings of them.
I don't get the feeling you guys are having, except maybe for 1 thing, I'm not sure if it's the same. It's when I get a haircut, my mother uses an electric clipper around my ears, and when she does that, I feel extremely sleepy and almost pass out, every time. Is it the same thing?

every 4/5 times I listen to this song I get those tingles and chills. [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjEsufPFxMA[/media] edit: Didn't realise I used the image tags. oops.
Not sure if its the same, but I often get chills and tingles from epic speeches or motivational things like so. [video=youtube;K75w6p7cKB8]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K75w6p7cKB8[/video]
All these ASMR videos do is make my spine tingle and make me really nauseous.
I get this feeling all the time when the hair stylist brings the razor close to my neck.
Classic violin does this for me. Everytime a song has a violin or something that sounds like it I instantly go "Holy SHIT! This is the best song ever!" But it needs to be an actual violin. My ASMR has always been able to detect electronic/synthetic violins and stop itself from happening.
I get mad crazy tingles and tickles all up in my ear and spine when my girlfriend whispers / licks my ear.
