Why I don't get them, they only happen listening music to me.

Watching Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy gives me one twelve-hour solid this. Soundtrack does this too.
Ive only ever found this to work with the sound of a fan.
THIS!
Oh yeah the sound of someone scratching the "loop" side of Velcro, or a car's fabric ceiling the pain oh god why
I showed this to a friend. She stopped talking to me once I told her I experienced this with some sounds. :v:
Oh, so that's what it's called. I get the feeling on the right side of my body whenever someone speaks into my right ear. Hell, I can experience the sensations just by THINKING about someone speaking into my ear. It drives me crazy sometimes.
I can't feel this with most of the videos posted here. I think most of them are just forced. However. What triggers ASMR to me the most is certain sounds people make, like breathing, whispering, swallowing, etc etc, but it must be spoken into a certain tone. I guess what triggers it varies from person to person.
There's a second thread? Content time from guess who.

And another bonus from the other thread.

Can anybody else perform ASMR manually?
I surely can't. One thing that triggers this on my is a soft voice of a woman or a woman whispering softly in my ear.
Weird then, I can do it whenever I want to. The longer I do it, it sort of intensifies and my body jerks.
I"ve gotten that shivering effect while listening to music before. Some of the biggest ones that have happened to me though is the intro to Kingdom Hearts and then also the Ending Cinematic of Kingdom Hearts, oh man that feel. Listening to the soft spoken eye exam also did it. It seems to come in waves. I also used to get it every time i had a hair cut or a massage.
Listening to this with my eyes closed is a gigantic trigger
i get this when i listen to the song feel good inc after not hearing it for a while or forgetting about it. i just find it to be the "perfect" song. i don't get it when i listen to it more than once in a row, i sort of have to savour it. it happens when i listen to other songs, but not nearly as much. [editline]28th November 2012[/editline] i also get this pleasant sensation at the back of my head when i'm listening to really chill music while playing a video game with the audio muted. i also play the game so much better when doing this, like double my average skill level. its probably my favourite thing to do. [editline]28th November 2012[/editline] i guess this happens whenever i'm totally focused on something that i enjoy, and completely immersed in it.

hey so thats what that is ive never really had anything trigger it for me but i can just do it. no real way to explain it and if i do it for longer than a few seconds its like waves of euphoria and i have to stop. [editline]28th November 2012[/editline] and its not just my spine its rushes through my whole body maybe its not the same thing
this is the weirdest shit ever but its so awesome i wonder if it'd be even better high
No. That's not even what triggers ASMR. You just wanted an opportunity to show off your music.
Not really, nope, what would even be the point in that?
Can anybody else perform ASMR manually?
I can I mainly get this from memories and exeptionally awesome music. That sound That fucking sound of cutting cardboard with a really dull razor That just does it for me, the tingles extend down my spine and out my arms. I fucking hate that sound. [editline]29th November 2012[/editline] Weird I always thought it was some very mild version of synthesia.
THIS!
Didn't even play it, just imagined the sound like HNHNG Nice to know this is a "real" thing and I'm not insane, though.
unpacking videos make me get all horny

Maria has a nice website set up for this sort of thing http://www.gentlewhispering.com/
hey, i've had something like this all my life it's usually triggered by brushing, for instance someone sweeping on concrete, but unlike what i've been reading in this thread the physical response i get is always unpleasant it's similar in that it's a tingle in the spinal area, but its always a discomfortable one ive always wondered if there was any way of identifying this
I find that videos of people moving sand around on a plate or something triggers it really well. Too bad there aren't many videos of such a thing
this is the weirdest shit ever but its so awesome i wonder if it'd be even better high
Yes it sure is
