(ASMR) - That tingly sensation from your head to your spine triggered by sound

ASMR is not triggered by music. That's a different phenomenon, Frisson.
Frisson is the tingly shiver-down-your-spine you get when listening to fantastic music or watching an emotional moment in a movie/play/etc.
ASMR is the tingly shiver-everywhere you get when listening to random crinkly sounds or haircuts or whatnot. Compare it to a pleasant version of nails-on-chalkboard. Same general effect - a sound makes you tingle - but relaxing and pleasant instead of harsh.
I remember I got Frission from watching the intro of TRON in the theater, when it's zooming through the buildings and into the logo in the beginning. Felt amazing
I also get ASMR hardcore. It's great. I think the thing that does it the most for me is unboxing videos and when im in a doctor's office and they're taking notes and talking softly (mostly women)
I get this when I have to take a dump and there's no toilets in range.

Guess that makes bowel tingles a part of the sensation for some reason. Believe me, I would know.

Gentlewhispering makes me sexually frustrated and relaxed at the same time.
I watched a couple of videos in the thread and I don't feel good at all, they give me this cringing feeling, it's nearly painful, am I going to die?
I find that videos of people moving sand around on a plate or something triggers it really well. Too bad there aren't many videos of such a thing
There's a ton of them, but they're often done with salt or sugar, not sand.

I only really get this when a song has a really good transition in it.
There should be a separate thread for you with frission. That would be from music and not the pleasant version of nails on the chalkboard.

It's the eyes.
Do you guys have symmetrical ASMR? It seems that the right side of my body gets much more stimulation than the left. Also on binaural videos, sounds stimulate more when they're coming through the right side.
I came across this a few months ago and have taken great joy out of videos like these:

I also love hearing the sound of a pencil on paper while someone draws.
Never experienced this, never even heard of it. And listening to the sounds posted in the thread, looks like I can't get it either.
Ah, well.
This one works very well for me:

And my favorite:

Yep, that makes only two people who can do it well. Oh, you expected the second one here? Nope.

A few of my favorites. I love hand videos.
No comment, just relaxing.

This sensation is my drug!
Get it more on my right
it's great if you have a friend who's quiet and they talk close to your ear (my friend does this in one of my classes all the time, i can sit there for ages listening to her) so you can hear them
shit's cash
I love quiet whispering close to my ears, especially my right one. That's when ASMR really kicks in for me.
I can't remember every time I've experienced ASMR or Frisson.
However, I remember VERY clearly three instances I experienced frisson: Hearing these songs for the first time.
Ace Combat 4: Megalith -Agnus Dei- ( http://youtu.be/nZ6ABV_Q9qU )
Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War ( http://youtu.be/cRXfFemc6Oo )
Yakuza 3: Clay doll on the cradle ( http://youtu.be/nLGCqzQXxKo )
I very desperately want to avoid posting every awesome vidya game song I've ever heard, so I'll reluctantly leave it at that.

I always feel terribly creepy when I do this with people I know.
I had to dig up this thread because I was listening to this and when the Christmas Stalker quotes come on, I think it's causing an ASMR affect possibly.

It works.
Pardon this double-toast, but I'm personally not ready for this thread to give up yet.

Early Christmas present. Only three hundred and forty-two days early, but whatever.
The only thing that sucks about these is that you can't really feel the massage on your back.

I love this thread. Smoking a pipe of vanilla tobacco and listening to these soft voices narrating, its as good as any mind altering substance.
Are there any AMR inducing whispering girls who do math problems? That would be amazzzzing.
I've found that I heavily enjoy the sound of metal parts on guns being pulled and pushed. M15A4's lever being pulled back.
Mmmm...
