that's why it's a challenge. I don't think I should have to spell it out, interpret it as you like. [editline]e[/editline] range of interpretation is apparently up for interpretation

[QUOTE=iWumbo;32539929]There no DoF in that picture.[/QUOTE] exactly why i chose it he said noticeable, not shallow and judging from your reply, you noticed it.
there is no observable depth of field and the picture is not directly of a large object. If it was honestly any depth of field and any subject or setting there wouldn't be anything that you couldn't submit. I guess I have to spell it, depth of field you can discern, as in shallow as you can muster, with something large being the subject. The whole challenge of it is that large objects usually require distance to focus, which broadens the critical focal plane. here's an example that now can't be used: a picture of a car and focus on the hood ornament or something. Doesn't have to be fully framed, but you'd have to be able to tell it's attached to a whole car or something.
Like this? [thumb]http://i.imgur.com/Ah1nb.jpg[/thumb] It's a pillar belonging to a traditional Nepali house. I think it's Nepali, forgot since I took it a year ago. [editline]30th September 2011[/editline] I want to see some structured objects, like rows and rows of windows.

[QUOTE=iWumbo;32549287]I don't even understand the joke. :([/QUOTE] It's not a joke, he was explaining to you what DOF means. The depth of field is the size of the 'zone' in which the focus encompasses. A large depth of field is a larger area of in-focus things, a shallow DOF means only a small area is in focus (blurry, bokeh-d out).
Dammit, I've only seen a reptile like once in my life.
I used to have a chameleon but it died, so no reptile pics from me :(
