The whole reason it was available on the internet is because they were bringing in most of the money in toy sales. This might mean that toy sales are dropping, so adverts are necessary to make up for it.

Pony moderators, will discussing alternative download methods result in a ban? Because I'm running out of options to watch this show.

The point is that if you distribute your TV show/movie in a way that is accessible to many people you can make a shit load of cash. Like if every MLP video on Youtube had an MLP toy ad attached to it they could make even more money vs. restricting it to the TV
