Holy shit, gone four hours at work and this thing explodes by 20 pages. So hey, I was considering modeling the ponies for GMod or otherwise, and while I know there are some great sources to reference, there's something I just considered that I hadn't before, nor heard anyone even HERE consider. Is a pony's cutie-mark on only ONE side, or is there one on both sides? I never really thought about it, but I also realized I couldn't recall a moment when you couldn't see it, unless you were seeing the pony in question from right behind or right from the front. I'm sure it's always supposed to be visible, a staple of certain animated character-designs, but I'm not sure how it might be considered "proper" in 3 dimensions. Mostly I ask because their bodies are pretty much symmetrical, save for their unique features, but if I'm doing a character with a symmetrical body, it's usually easiest to only UVW-map one side and then duplicate that to save room.
