I'm more excited for this than the Justice League movie if I want to be completely honest. Gal Gadot did WW great for what little and honestly shoe-horned in moments she had in BvS much like with Ben Affleck as Batman.
Amazonian Woman Goddess going over the top in bright neon colors and with high heels.
What in the fuck...
A-at least WW1 is starting to become a more popular setting.
God forbid those movies about comicbook heroes fighting in cat costumes, beating aliens with a shield and fighting the WWI wearing high heels
I just find it kinda weird tonally. It's like seeing Batman in the Gulf War or some shit. At least it doesn't look horrible like Justice League.
I'm cautiously optimistic.
It looks better than Batman v Superman, plus we haven't really seen a proper live action Wonder Woman before.
I also enjoy the WW1 setting. And Wonder Woman looks pretty awesome.

so how did captain america the first movie go down for you because its pretty much a similar deal
This actually looks like a pretty decent movie to be honest. Haven't seen a DC movie yet, probably won't bother with any of them but I'm somewhat tempted to give it a shot
Captain America has always been about fighting in WW2 though. He's a super patriotic super soldier who probably dresses in Red, White, and Blue for propaganda purposes. He doesn't do triumphant slow walks over artillery churned No Man's Land where people's assorted body parts are buried under the dirt.

He dresses in Red, White, and Blue because he's loyal to nothing but The Dream.
Batman Vs superman was probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen.
Please dont fuck this up too.
I've never seen the Captain America movies so I can't say anything with certainty. But assaulting a nazi/hydra/whatever base is a lot different than going through No Man's Land.

But in WW1 they actually went through no mans land a lot. It's a common misconception
lmao youre just really running low on excuses now
You can say that sure, but to me attacking a bad dude base is a completely different tone. It's a standard action for a superhero anyways. Those shots in the trailer just feel weird to me.
Yeah, going into No Man's Land wasn't some rare occurance lol

I'm not sure what you're saying here. I'm not saying soldiers didn't go over the top.

Then what is your point.
Wonder Woman directly attacking people on a field vs. Cap directly attacking people in a building, both set during horrific wars.
I just found the imagery of Wonder Woman in almost neon colored clothing slowly going over the top into No Man's Land to attack some Germans cause they're the bad dudes kinda weird. Is that so wrong?
Difference with Captain America is him and his group are special forces heroes going to kick super-nazi ass. (Like look at Hydra and try to tell me they're redeemable in any way)

Wonder Womans clothing isnt even remotely Neon.
Its about as bright as Caps first movie outfit.

i know what you mean, but it didn't feel jarring to me at all. maybe the last few years of superhero movies normalized this stuff for me, maybe it's how stylized the movie looks (well, comparatively). let's wait and see how it transitions into those scenes
Honestly if the soundtrack is at least good then I'll be fine
you tried
Yeah I see what you mean. Just voicing my thoughts, cause this is the first thing we're seeing of this movie.
Isn't wonder woman basically invincible to basic weaponry like superman? I mean for superman they usually either bring in some other alien who is somehow able to beat him up or pull some kryptonite out of their ass, but what's going to happen here? She seemed to be pretty unstoppable, and there's not much tension if your enemy is basically a bowling pin

she's strong, but she's not invulnerable.
also she's probably going to literally fight ares, which is why there's the scene with wondy in a dress with a sword on her back and a shot of danny huston in a german officer's clothing (presumably because he's ares and he started ww1)

Kick-ass
I'm more excited for the ww1 setting tbh.
I have a really tough time suspending my disbelief during fight sequences when it comes to Gal Gadot as WW. I find it really jarring to watch someone so physically unimposing act as such a force - especially considering how beefy her counterparts are.
I'm extremely content not having to look at beefcake women in my popcorn movies.

I think there's a comfortable middle ground between Gal Gadot and "beefcake." Allison Stokke is a good example:

I think Gal Gadot will do a fine job and there's a couple parts of the trailer (1:51 and 2:07) where she looks tough as hell, but equally so I wouldn't mind some actresses with stronger muscle definition when the role is appropriate for it.
holy shit what happened to dawn from the office
