I've actually had moderate success with garlic. If that counts.. but then I got lazy and it reverted to it's gorging state...
Alsooo
But I want to attempt it myself :downs:

It will turn into something worse and you will suffer even more and you will wish you went to a doctor
Trust me, you're not gonna do it yourself.
GO SEE A DOCTOR, DAMNIT.
DEAUGH
This makes me want to cut my toenails more.

All you have to do is get something like a knife to lift up the side of the nail where it is digging into your skin (this is the painful part) and then get extremely small scissors and cut straight down along the edge of the nail so it isn't sharp or uneven.
Wait a few days to see if it heals, if it doesn't repeat the above.
Gunna hurt in the morning.

or, go to a doctor and have a person who has training and won't possibly fuck it up
I've actually been making a sort of plan of attack haha.. I was doing exactly what Tippmann was saying but.. I sort of stopped. It's also a bit swollen over. Hey guys want a picture? :downs:

I guarantee it's 30x worse then the one OP posted.

I've done this shit like 4 times and I haven't had any problems, my toes are completely fine. It's a fucking toe, not eye surgery where you're guaranteed to do irreversible damage
Reminds me when I started picking on a huge callus on my toe, made my entire toe bleed.

Then go to a fucking doct-
Fuck it. I'm not giving you more advice.
Have fun with your serious problem that could infect your whole body and possible get your toe in an even worse condition. :downs:
Really? I Hope Your Toe Feels Much Better Now. That Picture Is Gross.

I want to listen to Tipmann and better myself as a human. I WILL LEARN HANDS ON!

Have fun possible doing more damage.
ingrown toenails suck. I have learned to remove the ingrown bits with tweezers, but it hurts every time.
I will be cautious. Also I'm just being stubborn. I know I will go to the doctor.. they are good at dealing with infections.

Seriously it's easy as fuck. Just cut off that old skin where you probably have puss under so you have healthy skin exposed and put something under the side of your nail and lift until you can see the edges of it. Cut the fucking up side of the nail so it's smooth and not sharp so it won't cut into skin and that's it.
I took pictures of me doing it the last time I did it. Lot's of blood
I'm having second thoughts, because my case may be a little different. It's a bit worse then normal..

Picture of said toe
Inbound!
having ingrown toenails are the most painful things I've had to deal with.
what the doctor did, was removed the part that was digging through your skin, gonna be some mild pain for a day or two, afterwords it should be all better, if the problem persist, go to your foot doc, and ask him if he can kill the nail root on the sides, (uses some acid)
If it's done well, it will not be noticeable; takes a little longer to heal but you won't have to deal with ingrowns again :)
I've had it done twice, it's not that bad, the injection is the worst part, (the needle does not hurt, it's the liquid putting pressure is what irks me.)
but if your doc knows what he is doing, it won't be very painful, afterwords, it's smooth sailing, and kinda cool to see it done.

I should buy some of that "acid" anything similar to this to make skin softer? Or make it less painful?

It isn't going to hurt as much as you think
or you can do the Vandenbos procedure.

Basically, it cuts of the surrounding skin, so when it grows back, it will be in a much lower profile, so ingrowns should not happen.

doubt you can get your hands on it without a medical license.

I've heard of some skin softening products that are used to make drainage and puncturing easier. I just have not gone to my local CVS

I think It will, just poking around it causes some sharp pain.

if you do your own bathroom surgery, will probably just end up infecting it.
