Trying out a few Brenizer shots in my free time today. So this is what it's like to own a 30mp camera...
Scanning MF 6x9 images at 4000DPI also sure eats a lot of space as well.
Sounds like those few photographers are on their high horse. If you a relate a map or a car to the word journey then those teachers should help you to get better and take a good and interesting picture of a map or a car, not ignore your work because they see it as inferior. Have you actually seen the portfolio of these photographers?? If not you should ask them next time you see them in person just to see their reaction. If they're making excuses or try advoid your request then they're a bunch of snobs and you shouldn't bother listening to their advice. John Free telling how it is!
This resonates with me so much I did photography A level and god it was awful. Even the students who weren't really interested in being a photographer and were just doing it to fill a subject slot all agreed that the quality of teaching was terrible. After 2 years half the class still didn't know how to use a camera properly, both film and digital. We spent most of the time making collages and moodboards of photos and writing about famous photographers, hardly did any photography at all. It was more like an Art and English course than photography. Oh, and none of the 4 teachers ever showed us any of their photos, ever. We also eventually found out that one of the teachers not only had no qualifications in photography, but had never worked as a photographer either, and didn't really have any interest in it. You could have learnt more from lurking on this subforum for a week than doing that course for 2 years. Which is pretty much what I ended up doing and I'm hella glad I did /rant

nice one for grading on resolve! I wish i could use it on my mac so i could learn it. the grade on that still looks sick mate, will check out the video later!
how do people on english streets generally react to photographing them without permission? the few times that i've been out to shoot street have led to me avoiding it in case i get a negative reaction. anyone got any advice?
just yolo it mate, go for it - no one will care and if they do just say you think they look interesting (do it in a flattering way). Show them the photo if it's digital/give them a link to your flickr or something.

I don't think I'll ever get used to shooting ISO 25,600. I'm looking through some night street shots and it's like I was shooting at 800 or 1600 ISO with my D90, technology moves way too fast.
https://vimeo.com/90764319 password is raw, thoughts on THA GRADE
I like the shot, you can tell she's with other people but they don't get in the way. Nice orange blue contrast.
Btw, what are you shooting with Cueball?
My Craigslist has some high ticket items recently. Saw an F1 with 85mm 1.2 ($1200), Pentax 67 w/ wood grip and 4 lenses ($1200), a Contax RTS III with 16mm 2.8 and 28-85mm ($2000), a separate Contax 16mm ($2000) Then my personal favorite was the "Contacts digital 35 millimeter camera" for $600. Some sort of RTS and 50mm 1.4

Hey guys! I'm really interested in photography and I've been lurking this sub for a while after taking my high school class. I did pretty well in the class and one of my photos was in the school showcase and I was beyond proud, and that was pretty much my start for wanting to be a photographer. My question is though, what do I do now? I'm only 17 and I'm going to try and practice everyday when it gets a little nicer, but what should I be doing? I just finished that class, and I'm kind of like what now. I admire a lot of your guy's and gal's work. You guys seem to be pretty excellent so I thought I could ask this here.
Just take more photos and have fun with it. Don't really have a focus right now, just make sure it's interesting to you. If you ever want constructive feedback on your work post in the creative thread and ask for it, and you should get some good feedback.
Btw, what are you shooting with Cueball?
Canon 6D, Magic Lantern RAW [editline]3rd April 2014[/editline] project coffee never looked so good

They never got 1080p to work with it, did they? That was sort of a letdown for me, at least. The 5D3 still reigns supreme within "cheap" RAW filming as far as i know. [editline]3rd April 2014[/editline] To you who wonder though, Magic Lantern works well and is stable on my 6D at least.
