im kinda conflicted because im starting to like sports photography because it has such a large audience and people who look at sports photos dont care much for colors/composition compared to like artistic photography because its all about just capturing the action but at the same time I dont want to get into it because I feel like its all such a big gear circlejerk where you need a 400mm f/2.8 and a D4s which is what I am trying to stay away from
i went to the photo store today to buy a couple rolls of film, and they gave me a couple for free! the tmax expired in 1991 and the agfa expired in 1988
currently attempting to superglue the rubber zoom ring back onto my 24-70 II because it fell off I have insurance but this is probably easier [editline]11th April 2014[/editline] in other superglue related photo news my friend broke his hotshoe off his 5d3 and tried to superglue it back on, accidentally managed to glue the menu, info etc buttons down, cost him £300 to get it repaired
gotta love superglue

And that Agfa roll almost looks like a 127 film to me instead of 120.
Got a photo gig in 2 hours, haven't slept worth shit because my allergies are so bad I was rubbing my eyes in my sleep so much it woke me up. Not a good start to the day
good luck
Basically I'm sitting at one hole for 3 hours and photographing the golfers in a group and then waiting for the next group which takes like 15 minutes. Not a fan of events where they don't really inform me well of what's going on or what I'm supposed to be doing...
You're not the only one, I blew off a reportage at an Otaku event because the organizers lacked basic communication skills. I asked them multiple times about the times etc. but no clear reply.
"just take photos and stuff"
My shot is at 16:20. Like, this is why I don't like competition. I didn't get any feedback at all, just "this works" and that he doesn't know what a rug looks like.
if you dont like competition why did you enter
if you dont like competition why did you enter
Because I wanted constructive feedback, not some high-on-himself douche to scoff at 90% of the pictures. Whatevs, learnt my lesson..
i love going over the australian outback in the new google maps, all the shapes look so nice same with bits of the english countryside, they look like they've had a vsco preset put over them [editline]11th April 2014[/editline] and the mongolian wilderness
So i have to shoot a stop motion animation and I'm having some trouble setting the camera up properly (using a dslr). I'm shooting indoors with little lighting. Kind of like this [t]http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-g849FD28vHM/Ub_w9-uwX3I/AAAAAAAACt8/T7syOwlB3co/s1600/Mary+and+Max_2.png[/t] How do I make sure to keep everything constant so that i don't get variations in flash, white balance etc.?

i have a tokina 60-300 beercan, would it be a good sports lens? I'm going to a big bike event and I can use md lenses on my a7 so...
i have a tokina 60-300 beercan, would it be a good sports lens? I'm going to a big bike event and I can use md lenses on my a7 so...
It's not going to be excellent but will certainly work. Older zooms are not as good as newer ones (honestly I've never heard anything good about a 60-300 though I'm unsure of your model), but stopped down it should be good f8-11 or so. The lack of stabilization might make it a bit more difficult for balancing on the a7, I sold all my FD zooms because they didn't work well on my Nex 5 (also why I got an a77). I would say stick to a 135mm if you've got one, might be less flexible but it will be easier to shoot with
the only 135mm i got is this super funky f/2.8 "tou/five star mc" and it thinks infinity is seven feet away. i have the a7 kit lens, but i've never really been happy with its still image quality, especially with image stabilization on
So my usual friday night club that I shoot had Ms Dynamite playing tonight, which makes tonight a pretty big night. For some reason I'm sure to discover later when I get there, they had her - the headline act, booked to play the OPENING slot (9-10pm). The one where the club is empty because it's just opened and there's no one there. Including me. I wasn't informed about this, and everyone knows that I usually get to the club at 11-12pm-ish. So I'm gonna have 0 photos of the headlining act. What the fuck, who's dumb idea was this? And not only is it a dumb idea, they also didn't let me or anyone else know the set times. I'm super pissed because even though I know it's not my fault I'm gonna get a huge grilling for this, and I was looking forward to shooting it too
this is so shit though, because even the clubgoers wouldn't know they were playing the shitty slot
the headline act, booked to play the OPENING slot (9-10pm)
wtf who organises this shit
Thought I'd wind back a roll of Acros that's been in my EOS 10 for months, ended up badly and now half of my frames prolly have light streaks n shit.
i've finally bought a 6d and it's a great reminder as to why i quit smoking haha [editline]13th April 2014[/editline] i had completely forgotten how nice it is to have your own camera, fuck having to borrow random dslrs from the school.
that shitty beercan is working fantastic, i never thought i could have this much fun with a telephoto!
