I lurked here in 04 before it was even called Facepunch, back when the forum was hosted on garry.tv, I have another March 2005 Gold account but I don't like the name so I use this one.

I used to use this account to shitpost but I liked the name more so used it as a main.

alright euro dudes and general travelers i have a question. what should i do about power converters for my stay in london? i'm not familiar with plugs there, so i can't really determine what exactly i need.

i'm looking at this thing (mostly i just want to make sure that it's the right plug)

All you'll need is something like this: [URL]http://i.imgur.com/3AA5gX6.jpg[/URL] for the uk and this: [URL]http://i.imgur.com/h17050A.jpg[/URL] for the continent (go on Amazon and search for "power adapter"/"plug adapter"/"socket adapter"/etc).

Your camera, phone and laptop charger will all be compatible with the different voltages, you'll just have to change the plug. Best part is you can grab these things for like $1 each.

Double check that the chargers saying something like "input 120-240 volts 50-60Hz", but I'm pretty sure they will.

Just make sure what you plug into it is compatible for up to 240 volts 50-60Hz.

As for the hair dryer, just buy a European one or a travel one that can switch voltages. It'll be expensive and heavy to buy a 2kW 120-230 Volt 50-60Hz AC converter because hair dryers don't include their own power converters because of the huge power necessary.

That big thing only supplies 150 Watts, a hairdryer will use between 2000-3000 Watts, don't know about a curling iron but that thing won't be able to power the hairdryer.

i've only ever developed a few shots from when we did a pinhole camera, but i'll definitely give it a try! hopefully the batteries that i've ordered for the eos 600 will arrive today, so that i can get shooting :smile:
