Shooting nikon I assume? Definitely go for the chip, it will make shooting easier. I think all Nikon lenses that fit will give you focus confirm (though not 100% sure on this), but I think the chipped version has a better aperture function as well
better nikon bodies do focus confirm, I can't speak for the current 3xxx/5xxx models but at least the 7000 will do it on any antique lens.

awesome photos! drag shows are quite fun from what i've heard, pretty damn loud and entertaining. definitely as exciting and robust as events come

and going between tube stations that don't look all that far away (on the map) can take like half an hour, which in glasgow is the equivalent of going from the city centre all the way to the edge into one of the suburbs past south side or something similar
some of them are okay, but this wouldve taken me an hour and a half and im so shit with directions haha
