I would love to have a $10.10/hr job. That's not low for me. [editline]2nd May 2014[/editline] i am currently in the process of going from a $9.00/hr job to an $8.50/hr job  [editline]2nd May 2014[/editline] oh and btw, i tried doing push ups at the taqueria with some friends, and i could do about 3, and now my whole upper body hurts THANKS EXERCISE
A local eatery wants me to go to shoot their classic car night. What should I be charging per picture?
Is Flickr screwed up for anyone else? D:
A local eatery wants me to go to shoot their classic car night. What should I be charging per picture?
Is it like an event? I would just charge per hour, depending on how long it is. If it's like an hour or two I would do $75-150 for the event.
Is it like an event? I would just charge per hour, depending on how long it is. If it's like an hour or two I would do $75-150 for the event.
Yeah, it's three hours long. A friend of mine who is a photographer said 150 would be reasonable.
Yep $150 sounds reasonable to me! Even though $50/hr seems like a lot, it's not consistent work so the price is higher than a normal job. That's a good way to look at it anyway.
My party shooting rates is $25 base + $25 p/h + $35 p/h every hour after midnight (generally advise a minimum of 3 hours). Be sure to include things such as transportation costs if it's further than 30 minutes away.

But for 1-3 hours I think $75-150 is a good enough base level for most stuff. That said I'd do a 5+ hour event for $150 or a 3 hour event for $150 (at least when starting out). It's always good to try and be working, the experience is beneficial.
does anyone know if it's possible to buy the the MOSSLESS United States book?
What kind of wide-angle lens do you guys recommend for landscape shots? I'm still learning about everything if this seems like a really basic question.
What kind of wide-angle lens do you guys recommend for landscape shots?
What kind of wide-angle lens do you guys recommend for landscape shots? I would recommend that for now, and if it starts to feel limiting then I would say look for a lens that overcomes the limits (like not being wide enough, or not being sharp enough at wide apertures, etc)
Damn. Photographin in the Warsaw outskirts and everything here is way more colourful compared to home. Clean streets, colourful road signs, even the apartments look pretty despite their simplicity. Im gettin Desuh vibes everywhere i go :V
it's b/c ur brain is being super absorbent b/c you're in a new environment whereas back in wherever ur brain is like desensitized and not absorbent like a used tampon for example
Guess i cant compare until i start taking photographs somewhere comparable like toronto, which i plan on doing anyway
Had a talk from Thisj Wassink of WassikLundgren who said that he and his partner Ruben moved to China for two years after graduating because when you are in unfamiliar surroundings you notice more things. Really good work and a very interesting message - first thing this year to make me excited and inspired to do work.
drinking and clubbing 2 days in a row. Feelin' beat, but I danced my ass off yesterday. Had a dance-battle against a jamaican dude. I think I really could get used to start clubbing regularly. The music, the people, the lighting. I can understand how Laurence/Dvorak can make a living off it.
I had a dream last night that I lived in a strange maze like commune, and that I traded a $500 paycheck for a fellow employee's 6D and my mom got really mad at me. I had to work my way through the maze of neighborhoods to get to this guys house, and he sold his 6D really cheap because he won it in a company raffle.
The music, the people, the lighting. I'm wearing jeans and a tshirt. I don't think I've ever felt so out of place before (I was shooting 2 clubs after so I decided to dress for them, and I didn't know it was a russian mafia party and stuff)
Got sent home from work today cos of a migraine I am having, fully in hell. My head was pounding, felt like I was going to throw up constantly, lost about a quarter of my vision, shaking constantly and could barely speak. I walked all the way home from work because I didn't have the coordination to bike. Was going to get the bus but the driver wouldn't let me on with my bike - I explained my condition and that I had 4 miles to walk home and he said "No." and then drove on, fucking dick. Took me 2 hours until I was home because I had to keep stopping to rest. I hate migraines.
lots of busses in my area have racks on the front [t]http://i.imgur.com/MZeU2ZS.png[/t]
I need to give a speech on some type of media that has influenced out society/cultre or was like an influence to the genre. It could be Music, Movies, books, art, tv shows. I really can't think of anything not obvious.

maybe talk about the film Weekend (Jean-Luc Godard), and the influence it had on the creation of the "road trip" genre of film? that genre is considered an American staple (films such as Easy Rider being culturally significant here), but was heavily influenced by French cinema. kind of out there, but might be interesting and i'm sure no one else will do it.
also guys, I have recovered from my migraine. I laid in bed and watched reservoir dogs/season 3 of suits whilst eating cheesy beans and chips and drinking lots of water/mango juice. Had the best nights sleep I've had in a loooong time [editline]5th May 2014[/editline] also, started discussing travel plans with my brother. watch out cali, you have 2 years to prep for our invasion.. [editline]5th May 2014[/editline] also
