I guess a big flash bracket and grip attached to the camera would help.
Nothing says "protog inc" more than a battery grip and a lenshood :v:

Yeah but I have a compact interchangeable lens mirrorless, I need something huge that would make it look conspicuous.
buy a cheapo old DSLR, hack it open and remove the gugs and stick your xe-2 (?) inside it

going to write my dissertation on the way instagram and IPhones have impacted the photography world, any thoughts/opinions? Im going to write a survey in a few weeks if anyone would fill it out :D
I'll be willing to help with a survey! Definitely a good paper to write, and there should be a lot of content to work with. I know that the iPhone is the most used camera in the world so there's a start.

Cut to, this morning, I open it up, start working, and it is unbelievably slow. So, I decide to restart it. While it's restarting, I visit the Fortress of Solitude. I get back, and my computer is...off. So I turn it on. The startup chime sounds and then, lo and behold, the little bar that pops up when it's updating pops up. It gets halfway and then...shuts down. I've been trying all day to get the thing to work. :(

sounds like a failed update. try recovery and resetting smc/pram (worth a shot)
From there either see if you can restore from a time machine backup, if not you'll probably have to reinstall osx also make sure its plugged in the whole time my merge also what he said ^^
Thank you. :) I tried repairing the disk...that didn't work, and now I'm trying the Time Machine thingy...we'll see. :/
Time machine should fix it providing you have a previous version available before the update, you can then try to update again but you may have the same problem and have to do it all over again. Google around a bit and see if you can find out what might be causing it to prevent it from happening again next time you try to update
Well, I've tried everything. The Time Machine thing won't show any backups or anything, and Disk Repair says that it can't repair the disk and that I should backup my files and format the disk. :/ In the immortal words of Leonard McCoy -- "It's dead, Jim."
Can try safe mode
Be sure your Mac is shut down. Press the power button. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple logo and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Alright, I'll try that and see what happens. Er, what should I do after I enter safe mode?
