The 1988 SLR uses 35mm film and from what I've seen takes pretty nice photographs:

Maxxum 3000i? It's an okay camera, no manual controls. The lens you have for it is really truly awful though, one of the worst ever made

Yep same cam, the Dynax was the European name (Maxxum in the US and Alpha 3700i in Japan). I'd recommend a different lens if you want to use it, the one you have now is noticeably bad. You could get a Maxxum 28-85mm for pretty cheap
shout about 6-7 rolls whilst down here in London, more than I've shot throughout the rest of the year. Thanks trog for the new lens, it's really given me a massive boost in taking photographs.

eugh, was about to scan a huge batch of film but I got shoo'd away because apparantly some class has to do physical portfolio presentation and they HAVE to use the photography studio, even though there's like 4+ blanco classrooms free.

Had an opportunity to shoot the Isle of Wight festival this weekend, but sadly it fell through. Would have been awesome to shoot Biffy clyro, Calvin harris, Kings of Leon, Fall out boy and the Red hot chilli peppers, but I'd of had to cover travel and accommodation myself as well as it being unpaid, sucks

They are exposed fine-ish, if a little over exposed but it's just asda's terrible scan quality that I don't like. Never really noticed how bad and pixelated they are until I've gone to edit some of these haha
