^ You can get a roll of AGFA Vista+ 200 for 1 quid at poundland. It's rebranded Fuji Superia IIRC
Lucky ducks. The cheapest film here is Fuji superia, and it only comes in $15 4 packs.
Lomo 100 is $8 on amazon for 108 exposures (3x36). I bought a pack just to give it an actually legitimate review on Amazon and it was a very good film.
So, it's final - I'm moving to England (Huddersfield) to study in a couple of months. Any places that deal with film there that you guys know of? What prices should I expect? How much does film cost in the UK in general?
Huddersfield is nice man. If you get any chance do some travelling around the area, especially York, Manchester or Leeds.

I'm going to be moving in March. I'll be driving from California to New Hampshire. Any must-see places along the way? I'm already stopping in Ridgway, Colorado, and probably somewhere in Ohio, but that's all I have planned so far. I plan on taking 1-2 weeks to make the trip, because I want to see stuff along the way.
Where in CA are you starting out? I live in LA and there's a chance I'll also be visiting my parents in Dayton (Cincinnati basically) Ohio around March as well.

Okay. I've been sitting on my computer archiving all my shit for the last 5 hours. The ball is finally rolling.

Now that sounds like an adventure. I could catch a flight up there, then head off with you. I'd split fuel with ya.
off to sign the tenancy agreement for a flat up in north london with 2 of my good friends since back in secondary school. its living room is absolutely perfect to use a makeshift studio, loads of space, huge white walls, high ceiling, the windows pretty much take up the whole wall on one side, it's essentially a wall made of glass can't wait to move in, moving in a week after the other 2 guys though as I'm on holiday in malta next week and they move in this saturday
Okay. I've been sitting on my computer archiving all my shit for the last 5 hours. The ball is finally rolling.
Still going...
There's also Lomo 400 for $9. Is it any good?
I haven't used any of the higher ISO variety (I'm a very low ISO guy) but I would think it's worth a shot. Kabstrac used some Lomo 800 and got very good results, I'm sure the 400 is pretty good as well. Perhaps not better than Superia 400, but at $9 it's worth checking out

I don't understand the hate for digital. Film and digital have their good sides and bad sides. I like film because you don't get sensor noise, but that's not really much of an issue if you have a good camera and editing software.

Both analogue and digital have their ups and downs. Arguing which is better is like arguing if Mars is better than Snickers - it's all personal preference.
My camera's autofocus fucking sucks and it's not a DSLR so I cannot manually focus. But instead of my whining, have a silly bear DSCF8978 by VictorDeGroot, on Flickr
It doesn't have to be a DSLR to be able to focus manually.
It doesn't have to be a DSLR to be able to focus manually.
All I can do is half-press the button and hope my camera (Fujifilm S4800) will pick the right thing to focus. It often doesn't. Worst thing is when it looks like the subject is in focus and you come home and it's slightly blurred aghhghghahaag Edit: i'm whining again so have a silly meerkat DSCF9080 by VictorDeGroot, on Flickr i'm running out of silly animals help
i take digital photos through my film camera's viewfinder [editline]30th July 2014[/editline] best of both worlds
I like the idea of film but I also hate it a lot. It's fun just shooting and getting prints but digital scans of 35mm are so awful compared to digital shots. So much less detail, resolution, much more noise (and yes I mean noise, there is a lot of digital noise in my Epson scans), the grains are bigger and more noticeable than digital noise, and the white balance isn't as malleable (poor for fluorescent lighting). I'm always disappointed with my digital scans, and I have a huge body of work that I don't even bother uploading because I can't get the scans to look as nice as the prints do. Basically if I had a full frame camera I would get 35mm film out of my life forever. The extra area is the only thing I like over digital. Death to analogue
Been getting into film photography a lot over the past couple of months and was really excited for it at first, and still am, but what you said basically sums it up for me too I need to get my full frame on
I really tried to get into film but with digital cameras almost at 15 stops of dynamic range it seems like the only thing separating film from digital in the modern age is almost gone.
