So, Brighton Pride was interesting yesterday. As soon as my bus pulled up in Churchill Square there was this huge protest for the Palastinians in Gaza marching down the main high street. I didnt go to the actual festival in the park but me and my friends decided just to walk about Brighton in its full glory.
Best part was probably getting on the bus back to Eastbourne, Where it stopped at a set of red lights outside a small church, and there was some young woman squatting outside taking a piss/shit or something. The entire bus was just laughing their asses off while an old man (with his wife :v: ) went up to her and took a picture. She then just got up with her ass in full view and looked towards the wall in shame.
i keep meaning to go to the palestine demos in glasgow and photographing them since it's fairly current but protests don't interest me photography wise anymore

I wanted to grab my camera from my bag since there were some good opportunities for photography but my friends were in a hurry to get to the beach.
These protesters were hanging huge palastinian flags over the clock tower/statue on North street while there were a large amount of police officers just walking around. Must of been a hectic day though considering they had to also do security for the Pride festival.
I know this isn't the music forum, but this is basically my home forum. Just dropped a bit of cash...

No idea about printing shops but run a few test prints on smaller format first to get the colors right, work in CMYK and then send the uncompressed .TIFF file to whatever lab is located close to your relative so they can pick it up.

in malta atm and i swear i've spent the majority of the last 2 days huddling in the corner of the apartment where i can get wifi
and its slower than dialup and drops out every 30 seconds anyway

I finally got a 'normal' lens for my D70s... I've only ever had my 170-500mm Sigma telephoto lens which is great for... very little, practically;

But I just got a basic little Nikon DX AF-S 18-55mm ED II lens, along with some cheap little 52mm UV / Polarising lenses for the hell of it. I've also NEVER shot in manual mode or RAW before, but I do a LOT of 3-exposure handheld HDR and I've learned a lot and had a lot of fun doing that over the years. Anyway, I popped up to the rooftop of the building my shop is in and took some manual snaps of the area and views, I think these were mostly about 400 iso and F/5.6... A few are a bit overexposed but I did my best in Capture NX2 to get the tones fairly even. 2000px large versions should be there if you click on them, thumbnails are compressed of course;

Oh and I also did my first night time 'long' exposure... Was only 30 seconds since that's the camera's limit and my ML3 remote is dead too (just got a new remote trigger yesterday though, goody!). The original RAW was basically a pitch black screen with a blob of light in the middle, but a tweak to the exposure levels and such in NX2 gave me this result;

I was pretty happy with it actually, I just wanted to go for that spooky forest feel, and I didn't have a tripod so I was holding the camera on an upright stick of wood haha. It was so dark that night I couldn't even see 1ft in front of me, but there was a nice bit of glow from the moon. So what do you guys think for a first go at all of this?

I was thinking about getting some film for it since I have never in my life used a film camera before, but the only film you can use with it is polaroid 600 film, and you can only get it from some company which still makes that film.
