This has probably been posted before but I just thought it was great

This has probably been covered before, but when you guys save your images what format do you use? I imagine it could get quite annoying to have flickr compress jpgs that were already compressed.

Just found out that my 24-70 L can't focus to infinity even after being repaired. Fucking sucks.
Fuck yeah.
I got new shoes. Now I can go shoot at in the swampy/marshy/whateverthehellitis area that I've been wanting to for a while, since I don't care if my old shoes get mud and water on or in them.
My friend Jonny (guy in the car in the last B&W photo I posted) has commissioned me for his band's photo. He says they have thought about it a lot and just want to a shot of them all on the couch, but maybe put the couch somewhere interesting. Anyway, this is my first time doing anything like this so anyone with experience could offer some advice at handling the whole situation I would be really grateful. I understand it will be a friendly atmosphere as I know some of the band members, but handling the shoot professionally will be important to me.

How old are they? Just be a bro. Don't try to be professional - have a good time. It's a played out idea, but if it's what they want, just have them drag a couch out into the forest or bog etc, go find a light ray and shoot with the pentax wide open, get that shallow dreamy shit that non-photographers eat up.

as long as you are friendly, make sure you know what exactly they want, talk about any technical or other limitations that come up (i really doubt this would even be a problem in your scenario) and do your best to meet the requirements, everything will be fine, honestly

They're a prog metal band, not sure if dreamy fits the aesthetic.
oh yeah also offer any suggestions you have to them (make sure you explain why, as well), they are hiring a photographer after all, not a tripod :X

It's weird that bands like Alt J or Of Monsters And Men can be a midlining band in another country, whereas in Australia people would be frothing at the mouth seeing those names together on a festival list.
Tbh I'm not really down with the order of the bands here.
Parov Stelar, FM Belfast, Editors, Friska Viljor, Bouncing Souls should be way higher and then you also have local hypes (Frittenbude)
I AM KLOOT.

I'd rather die than go to that, the lineup is awful.

Is anyone here from Perth?
I was just browsing Flickr, trying to see if anyone's taken photos in my general area, and I stumbled upon my 10th grade biology teacher's page.
It's page after page after page of snakes. (And the occasional lizard).
I did well on my last University Project and now I'm going to FUCKING POMPEJI in october for geophysical archeologic work.

can anyone explain what's going on here? is it some sort of shutter curtain lag or mirror flappy business?
Not sure, but if you crop the top off you still have a pretty neat photo.
Australian Perth

considering that it's brighter in the middle and there's a drop in contrast rather than just overexposure, i'd vote for weird flare, maybe caused by reflections in the mirror box or something
So I'm at Hawaii right now and went to a local photo store and got myself an ND filter.
Fast forward the next day I set down my camera still on the gorilla pod and it tips over breaking my ND filter :|. And I still have about a week left here in Hawaii. Photo store I went to is closed tomorrow and the next day im going to another island. Shit sucks yo.
