Eh i wouldn't say it's lame at all if we had a rating that was praising a good image. It's not like we need any extra rating really so i guess it ultimately doesn't matter what it conveys. Although regarding the tight-knitness, if the rating is relating more to an 'in-joke' then wont newer members who join not really understand or feel left out?
I haven't had a good shot in so damn long, and I just can't find anything remotely worth photographing.

Drugs has 'smarked' and GMF has 'moustache'. It works pretty well for them. I think it would add a subtle charm and whimsical character to this subforum, and it wouldn't be that hard for non-regulars to figure out what it means through context. I just think a third praise-related rating is a bit redundant and this is an opportunity to have a new way to express something that's unique to this section.

Happens to everyone fairly frequently, don't forget it's part of the process. Take a break, or shoot more relaxedly.
I like the ratings system for this subforum, good way to show appreciation without spamming up the thread with replies for every post I like.

I have been on a "break" for months. It has been so long, that I'm even questioning why I even bother carrying a camera sometimes.

I understand your point of view, and i agree! What would you suggest that the new rating conveys? What would 'cactus' imply to you?
If I clicked the cactus I'd do it because it shows "Roll_Program was here and stopped to appreciate your post".

I think it does matter somewhat. Whats the point of a rating with no meaning whatsoever? Like surely it's gonna have some vague meaning at least.

But I think that a more obscure, original rating which gains its meaning (meanings) organically would serve more purpose than just a standard definition defined from the start.
