better than a broken lens
breaking filters can be really bad though, if it shatters the glass can scratch your lens. lenses are a lot more sturdy than filters and are less likely to shatter if dropped.
Yea but I'd rather have scratches from shatters than a huge dent from a fall.
Just shot my first roll of film. Not expecting amazing results, but: Where should I get it developed & printed? The only camera/photo supply store that I knew of in my area closed several years ago, and I can't seem to find any information about what other stores are around. The only place I know of is Walmart. Do any of you know if their development and prints are any good? Or should I look elsewhere?
yeah
Is developing color film really as hard as people make it out to be?
Is developing color film really as hard as people make it out to be?
it's harder than b/w but not really that difficult. It's just more time/temperature sensitive.
it's harder than b/w but not really that difficult. It's just more time/temperature sensitive.
That's nice to hear. Sadly I don't have any room to develop in.
Walgreens does it but I would suggest learning to do it yourself if you plan on shooting more film in the future.
I'd probably screw it up, somehow, so I'll save that for a day when I have more money to buy the needed supplies and some film with shots I don't care about losing.
Today I got a Minolta Maxxum 9000 with a motor drive and battery grip (boxes, manuals, and a case for the camera), a 4800AF flash and case, a 70-210mm f4 like new in the original box with warranty card, and a 50mm f1.4 lens Paid $5 for it lol Going to test the lenses against my current and sell the worse ones, and probably save the cash for the sigma 18-35mm
It was on Craigslist, some kid said that's how much he paid for them at a garage sale so that's how much he wanted back lol. And I'm not sure if the flash works the battery door is rusted (the door that comes off, I could replace it), and then the camera doesn't work but whatever
Im going to order my 17-40 f/4L this coming weekend. Im pretty excited about it, first piece of L-glass, even if it isn't a f/2.8, it still is what i'm missing in my setup. 35mm is just a tad too long for alot of my stuff, so this lens fall in perfectly! (:
I am entering a juried exhibition (no theme) and am limited to two entries. I'm planning on submitting these two: thoughts? anything you guys would suggest instead? -> http://www.adamturnerphoto.com/ the juror: http://www.danielfarnum.com/ [editline]20th June 2013[/editline] this is a close third
I like the third better than the second
Decided it was time for spring cleaning (all photos by the way, brought my count from 10,000 pictures to about 7k)
Lost my Sony lens cap to the lake, I don't want to buy an off brand one ;(
Make one out of coffee cups and rubber bands.
I think I can make an insurance claim because the lens is insured Lol worst insurance claim ever
I think I can make an insurance claim because the lens is insured Lol worst insurance claim ever
In case you can't make an insurance claim, why don't you just buy a new one? http://store.sony.com/c/Lens-Caps/en/c/S_Lens_Caps
Because they are $10 that's whack
Lost my Sony lens cap to the lake, I don't want to buy an off brand one ;(
I've lost my lenscaps for almost all of my lenses. Have never replaced them.
I just lost my lens cap for my 28-135 while boarding the plane. I don't really mind, I feel my UV filter is good enough :v:
I've lost my lenscaps for almost all of my lenses. Have never replaced them.
I'm a stickler for clean front elements (even though you are right it doesn't really matter), and I prefer caps to filters. It's just my nicest lens so I try to keep it in the best condition possible I just wish they made single coated clear filters. Easier to clean than multicoated and UV light is good for killing bacteria
idk i always have a polarizer on the front of the lens (even if just for placebo)
i use polarizers when shooting film (gives you a good 2 stops of darkening, useful with slower shutter speed cameras) but they are hard to clean, and aren't good with wider than 24mm lenses imo. plus they get pricey. i try and use as little extra glass as possible
