wondering if i should start an agency or something I give so many jobs away to other people and a lot of people have suggested I start taking a 20% cut or something from jobs i outsource/pass on to other people what does fp think
Do it, free dosh for you
wondering if i should start an agency or something I give so many jobs away to other people and a lot of people have suggested I start taking a 20% cut or something from jobs i outsource/pass on to other people what does fp think
become THE nightlife agency i don't even think their are any in edinburgh also get me on the books eh [editline]2nd October 2014[/editline] get the lola lo national contract
There's none in Edinburgh because the big national ones have most of the clubs already.
Most of the nightlife photography agencies in the UK at the moment are all reeeeally shitty, mostly commission based by selling keyrings and stuff like that. The photos they produce are all really bland and generic too. Just all around bad and no decent venue or promoter who isn't trying to just be another generic club would never ever use one of those agencies. If I were to start something I don't think it would be a proper official thing, more just if I give you a job I take a percentage. would also make sure I'd only give jobs to people who are actually decent and have a good style or are good a replicating others and know what they're doing i mean some of these agencies will literally just give you a bridge camera and tell you to shoot on auto
do it laurence, i'll come work 4 u
honestly mate, you've got the attitude, you've got the contacts, you've got the portfolio. create a market. make it the way to work
wow i gave away 3 jobs tonight started getting ready to go out realised i also gave away the one I was supposed to do shit beers and pizza it is
get crackin on your company
I wouldn't want it to be a company though just something that exists in conversation or whatever "ey mayn got a job 4 u 2nite, pay is £80" but its actually £100 and I take 20
but here, if you actually start a company, you'll make a killing. is there even a system like this already? think about it - you save the club time and money by finding photogs yourself, they just sign up to use your services exclusively, use some cool shit to promote and within a few weeks all the top photogs are signed up on your name, more clubs sign up, you essentially own the market with competitive rates and and then you're rolling in both pussy and cash [editline]2nd October 2014[/editline] you will create a market that as far as i can see, doesn't exist
The thing is though, most of the nightlife scene is very, I'm not sure how to put it exactly but signing exclusivity deals and the like are things that just wouldn't happen its all very cash in hand and unofficial
The thing is though, most of the nightlife scene is very, I'm not sure how to put it exactly but signing exclusivity deals and the like is very unlikely for the scene. its all very cash in hand and unofficial
yeah tbh i've only been paid cash in hand idk maybe legitimising it to a level would work? or just take 20% of peoples money [editline]2nd October 2014[/editline] https://twitter.com/EditYourWedding fuckin
Welp, had a relaxing night having a smoke with a buddy of mine on a bronze age roundhouse in the middle of a marsh, really wish I had bought my camera, when we were starting to leave there was this thick mist gathering around the roundhouse, the only light that came through was the moon and the nearby street lights. looked beauttiffulll
It's always the ugliest people that think they're victims of 'perv' photographers. I was walking behind some guy and his very large girlfriend when he kept turning around, finally asking if I "wanted a picture" and then threatened to throw the cake he was carrying at me. Again not even holding my camera...
So people are saying these things to you when you've just got your camera over your shoulder? That's really really odd
I think pedestrians tend to be on 'red alert', especially with the paranoia culture here in the US. Also there are people that love to jump at confrontation the first opportunity they get. The guy claimed he was 'born and raised on this block' - 'the block' happened to be 50 year-old banking headquarters and the 80 year-old public library. He couldn't have been more than 35.
So far, when people notice my camera, they either think it's a film camera or they ask "are you a photographer?"
Was bored today, fucking around with my stuff, found out that if you stick a cheap screw on wide-angle adapter onto a short tele lens, you get an instant ~petzval lens effect~. [t]http://i.imgur.com/hgPO16m.jpg[/t] not particularly good looking imo, but might be fun to fool around with in the future
people here take well to cameras but one thing is how most people always think it's the best idea to turn facing the camera and smile even without asking
people here take well to cameras but one thing is how most people always think it's the best idea to turn facing the camera and smile even without asking
i always do this lmao [editline]3rd October 2014[/editline]
