hasn't some of your work been featured in vice before too as well
blaze that's awesome
congrats dude
im subbed to the mag it'd be cool if you get published in there too
Just had a quick thought: everyone in this subforum have honestly grown so much in terms of their photography.
And it's just so cool to see this occurring over the span of 2-3 years since i've started posting on this sub
I want to make videos for VICE. That's my dream job.
went on an ello adding spree
i want it to do well; i like the design
not too keen on the planned paid features and stuff though but we'll see
I know a few people who work for VICE and apparently lots of their staff are interns who are very lowly paid or not paid at all

Maybe u win this one!
I wish my v500 would scan at a higher resolution, i long for the day that i will be able to afford a scanner to scan my negs above 6000px long edge.
it's a weigh up between a Leica or a scanner and im going to choose a leica
i have a v500 im really glad it has a mad dof cos all my negs are bent as a lot
[editline]10th October 2014[/editline]
i thought it went up to like 12800 dpi though?
It can scan high but has a theoretical resolution limit, to where scanning in higher DPI is pretty much like stretching the image in photoshop to make it bigger. For 35mm film it's around 2700dpi.
The Leica will look a bit nicer, but mostly the same honestly in terms of overall sharpness. With most 35mm film on the v500 you're getting something similar in detail sharpness to a 6mp digital camera. The scanner is the limit, not the lens on the camera
^ frag4life saved me from a flatbad (heh) and I went for a dedicated 35mm film scanner with multiple exposure scanning (gives more dynamic range) and silverfast. I'm lovin it
i'm not sure but i think i may be becoming an alcoholic or something
or at least far too dependent on alcohol when working
like whenever i'm sober whilst working i'm always in a bad mood and always do a worse job than i would if i were drunk
i mean it definitely makes it easier to interact with people with you're drunk and everyone else is drunk obviously, but it seems to have gotten to a stage now where I just can't be enthusiastic about anything whilst working unless I've had a few drinks, which can't be right

It's because you've gotten used to associating alcohol with fun times, taking a break would be the best. Go out and do something fun without alcohol, go hiking/biking or do some other crazy stuff like a parachute jump.

take care of yourself, dude. drug dependency ain't fun.
Holy shit
I saw someone actually yell and insult someone that only uses P mode on his DSLR
What the actual fuck? If it gets him a nice shot,it gets him a nice fucking shot. Who cares what he does? For all I care,he uses a fucking point-n-shoot on full auto settings. If it's a nice shot,it's a nice shot. No matter what mode you use.
He sounds like one of "those guys".
After going through auto when I was a beginner, then manual when I was learning, I find myself using aperture priority or full auto again, alongside the exposure compensation wheel. You can just glance at the settings the camera chose and check they're correct rather than have to put them in yourself, much quicker and easier. Pretty much the only time I go full manual is if I'm taking a landscape where I can take my time.
for the longest time ive been using my manual film cameras at 1 stop below fastest aperture + slowest shutter i can handhold and tbh all my pictures have been fine
i barely ever shoot at my lowest aperture (2.8), only if i have to due to low light. I always shoot on manual settings, i don't trust the auto functions of my camera. At least if a photo comes out bad i know its my mistake and not the camera.
