[QUOTE=The Salmon;46486008]If you haven't seen Interstellar yet, go see it. I went in knowing next to nothing about the movie and was absolutely blown away. Incredibly daring and ambitious, huge scale and gives the right nods to its parents.[/QUOTE] heading out to see it on sat, just wish i could see it in (film) imax digital imax is technically worse than digital 4k by a lot. it's brighter in 3d but that's about it, i won't go see a 3d release anyways.

labbet [editline]16th November 2014[/editline] i spent all yesterday taking pictures of the financial district (7am to 4pm) for school, it was really empty. But I bumped into one businessman who came out of his office to check his voicemail, and he saw my TLR and got super excited. "Just like my pops had, you gotta look down, right?" I told him yep, and that I was a student on the hunt for reflections, and he said "upstairs there is some amazing sights. Keep up the good work!" He just seemed like a really nice guy. [editline]16th November 2014[/editline] and i was standing outside of a financial building taking pictures with my TLR, and security came out of the lobby told me to stop. I thought it was weird, but I already got the shot I wanted so I said ok, and the guy was nice enough. He said "I gotta ask you to refrain from doing that" which was a nice way to say stop. At least he didn't get all aggressive.
^ this is why I love to shoot street photography with vintage gear, there's just a nostalgic feel to the camera that really helps breaks the ice if you ever get into an encounter. I think it's because the black box + (big) zoom lens is associated with paparazzi/press while vintage gear is more associated with art students/hobbyists.
i've had someone almost cry as they look down through the tlr for the first time
I was using a TLR in paris and some lady started gushing in French to me and gesturing at the camera then touched my shoulder and wandered off. I had no idea what was going on.
I don't like when people notice my camera it's always awkward
