I've never really had anyone get upset with me for taking their picture, I've found that any funny looks I'm given go away pretty quickly if I smile.
Had a nice sleep in today and feel like I've recovered from my birthday weekend. Ed man, you're the biggest dude I know - thanks for welcoming me and my crew into your flat. Definitely the best birthday I've ever had. [editline]17th November 2014[/editline]
I don't like when people notice my camera it's always awkward
Why don't you shoot canon? Aren't they better?
Is it worth upgrading to a full frame sensor? I have a 60d (that I haven't used in a while) but I feel like a full frame would be so nice.
Do you take a lot of shots that are very wide angle or have a lot of bokeh? Then yes.
Do you take a lot of shots that are very wide angle or have a lot of bokeh? Then yes.
literally me
I like full frame but it hasn't changed my shots much (that I notice anyway). I also have yet to find a standard zoom that approaches the 16-50mm 2.8 I had. 24mm f1.4 is great, that and 35mm f1.4's are the most compelling FF lenses imo FF is also great if you like vignetting, soft corners, and lateral color fringing
I thought most modern digital cams got rid of fringing with very exact lens profiles? My D90 had it and so does my X-E2.
man this is trippy to watch
I thought most modern digital cams got rid of fringing with very exact lens profiles? My D90 had it and so does my X-E2.
yeah kind of but not fully, and you still lose some resolution that way
Why don't you shoot canon? Aren't they better?
"Woah cool camera! Very hipster :))" "Nice camera, bet it takes nice pictures."
I never get anyone commenting on my cameras apart from older generations saying how they used to have one just like it (pentax k1000). I think it's nice for people who grew up around film cameras to still see people, especially people my age, using them. Little bit of a nostalgia trip for them.
since taping up the "Canon" on the front of my camera I've had far less people come up to me and ask what camera it was, not sure why though, you think it would make them more likely to ask
i stopped asking when i realised i can spot the difference between the alexa, alexa plus and alexa studio from 40 paces
Nerd alert [editline]18th November 2014[/editline] Canon has better marketing so are more popular with people new to and wanting to casually get into photography with something "pro" looking like a 600D compared to their old P&S, so they naturally get interested when they see the Canon logo with someone else.
I'm gonna tape up my sony logo
Never tape up Sony be proud of your camera! I wear my Sony logo with pride and deflect all of those who tell me Canon is better
Since I got an X-E2 people have been telling me about why I should upgrade to a dslr and telling me about their 650D/D3300/whatever, that or "hey nice you shoot film?". Nobody ever asked about my old D90 back in the day, nobody uses Nikon like a fashion accessory.
trog ur a7r is small um..why dont you buy a bigger camera?
I also like it when people use their high-end pro gear to confirm that their photo must be good.
Yeah the A7 is so tiny
trog ur a7r is small um..why dont you buy a bigger camera?
Then I have an a850 and it's "why didn't you get a canon" Which the answer is because I like being able to afford different lenses, and the minolta options are quite good for the price and deliver great quality
I am an elite sony user Behold my gear [t]http://www.ephotozine.com/articles/new-sony-cyber-shot-dsc-w630--w620--w610-and-s5000-18229/images/highres-SonyW630BlackLeftjpg_1326368352.jpg[/t] Seriously I have still not bought a dlsr I have been meaning to for at least 3 years fuck

part of my dream last night had me teaching people what exposure was and how to correctly expose an image, I came up with a concept that involved the exposure triangle but how you had to keep the triangle's area at a certain point for it to expose properly. Changing the variables affected the area of the triangle so if you increased one thing you had to alter another accordingly to balance everything out and keep the area of the triangle constant. I can't exactly explain how it worked but yeah, dreams are weird man.
holy shit
i'm racking my brains over how it would work and I think i've got it. its not the area you have to keep constant, it would be the angles of the corners. this is based on the idea that if you increase shutter speed, for example, the shutter speed corner would move away from the centre of the triangle respective of how much you increase it. i.e. 1 stop = 1 cm [editline]19th November 2014[/editline] the area of the triangle has to be bigger depending on how much light you need to capture. [editline]19th November 2014[/editline] i can't tell if it works or not. i wish i knew flash or something so i could make it an interactive tool omg
it would work if you used stops for the angles so in a triangle if you know two of the angles u can subtract them from 180 to get the other one the thing is that u need 4 things for an exposure: light level, f-stop, shutter n sensitivity so a quadlilateral would work also why the sunny 16 thing works: pretend its a parallelogram. u can work out the other 2 angles from knowing just 2 (loght level and iso)
some film stills from the last couple of days anamorphic out my nut here
