If you can guarantee you'd be making more with the degree than without it, despite having to pay back the loan every month, then go for it. [editline]23rd November 2014[/editline] University connections get you places too. I dropped out with some loans, rip me. Some time I want to go back.
everyone has different reasons for going to university. some people legitimately won't gain from attending them. each to their own
I had to leave for reasons completely out of my control, pisses me off so much, so much wasted time and money.
Found what I was looking for, will post the link in-case anyone else is interested in it. http://www.ulearn.photography/PictureIdeaGenerator/default.asp
Making this little photography scrapbook for my girlfriends birthday, its basically made up of little trips we have had out together. Kinda making me want to start my own little photography scrapbook with contact sheets and all that, my college one is full and the shots in it are primarily for a certain subject we were focusing on. but it would be nice just to have one for certain shots I liked whenever I was out with my camera.
I think I've finally come to terms with the fact that I'm studying engineering next year and not studying art or pursuing it full time. I'm never not going to be into this sort of stuff, the engineering is just another stepping stone that I can learn from.
I wish I was academic enough for that level of study otherwise I probably wouldn't be studying photography. Good on you mate and good luck with it, you'll smash it for sure

I went to pick up pizza and I left my camera behind because it was just like 5 minutes away and stuff, and on the drive back I saw a two car head on collision! Always bring your camera
I went to pick up pizza and I left my camera behind because it was just like 5 minutes away and stuff, and on the drive back I saw a two car head on collision! Always bring your camera
ouch. As it happened or the aftermath? I just realized I've never seen an actual wreck happen
As it happened, a car was turning left and the the other was going straight in the opposite direction as they collided. Everyone was okay, it was just loud and the cars were wrecked I've seen like 2 or 3 as they happened. They happen in AZ all the time
I've been in one but I was in the back seat on my gameboy so I didn't see it.

I'm going to keep the bodies because my current ones are slowly dying. However I'll put together a nice Facepunch exlusive zuiko lens set real soon.

Been using a hasselblad H3D for a few days, digital medium format is so nice to use and the shutter sound is incredible.

I found 3 rolls of Kodak Gold 200 from when I lived in the states so went to get them processed today and was blown away by the colours that came back, when I can afford it I'm going to shoot film, vsco doesn't even come close to the real thing. I don't use vsco so whatever.
http://ktla.com/2014/11/25/protesters-run-onto-101-freeway-in-downtown-l-a-stop-traffic/ going on about 4 blocks from my apartment. the video is from about an hour ago, never in my life have i seen so many helicopters in the air at once. im trying to watch the fifth element, shut up
I was gonna say go and take some snaps but I don't think walking around those prostestors with a Leica is going to end well fo you. Do you actually have any tele lens or only 35mm?
35mm only. i've already had the amount drinks with dinner to be considered legally drunk (though i'm not really intoxicated), and i'd imagine the chances of having to talk to police are higher than usual right now. i'd have to sneak past police barricades - public intox is a much larger taboo in the US than in europe. not in the mood to spend the night in jail, or like you mentioned, lose my gear. i got some video clips from my window but it's just a bunch of lights in the sky really. i'm making excuses and i know there could be some cool photo ops, but i'd be more inclined to take the risk and get into it if this was happening during the day.
there's most likely going to be a tomorrow and the day after tomorrow though. I wonder how the Korean community is responding to this since they was the only people actually defending their establishments back in the LA riots.
if it escalates/gets into city streets, i'll go out. [editline]26th November 2014[/editline] It's relatively close to where all of that happened but, a little more to the north east than Korea town - which is a much different area nowadays than it was during the Rodney king riots. Everything is still Korean owned over there but it's inhabited and staffed by a mostly Latino population now. There's a gunship circling around near by, with how militarized the police are I doubt the protests will continue for very long. If it gets anywhere near violent it'll all be locked down in moments. [editline]26th November 2014[/editline] Had my headphones in at my computer and noticed some sirens going by that went on a little longer than what's been going by all night. I started recording about halfway through their procession. [sp]u can hear tha gunship right above me[/sp] It's heating up - another procession of probably 25 cars just went by making a (their left) turn at the intersection where the cars in the video had gone straight. I'm going out now to scope the city but I'm not gunna push anything. Hoping I don't get stuck~
Girlfriends getting me a pet cactus for christmas why does this forum have to follow me hahahahah [editline]26th November 2014[/editline] Also out of curiosity, anyone still have that link to the VICE artical about a photographer who is on Facepunch? Going to be using it for a piece of college work.
