spend the money on a hdslr instead and record yourself airguitaring
Any guitarplayers in here? I'm looking into buying a good acoustic guitar to start playing again. I'm still a beginner though I've got a lot of the basics down.
Would ~200 euro's get me a good acoustic guitar? And I don't really mean beginner-good, but just good overal, as in, I can play for years to come with it.
I like epiphone's, almost any model is decent.
If you can find a used masterbilt for a good price they are an absolute joy. Rosewood is the best, with mahogany being great as well.
Street photography is terrifying. I'm so gun shy. I got 1 or 2 okay shots though!

there's a few yamaha acoustics that are in beginner price range but sound fucking amazing, can't remember which models, but i'd recommend going to a guitar shop and trying some of them out

My Yamaha has always treated me well, even after taking a beating from being a little bit clumsy as a teenager. I don't have it with me, though it's coming today, I'll put up the model number later.'
Though don't take it as a "This is the best go for it", I've always felt that with music related things it's always best to go and see what you like to hear the most.
I bought a Washburn guitar which sounded great and was in my pricerange. Now I need to develop some calluses because of sore fingers
ma pal took this

Homeless people photos are always pretty "meh" to me.
They're a lazy subject choice in street photography among other things.
Who likes to look at a homeless guy next to a rubbish bin?

there is more there for you to call bad subject matter.
Could any homies on PC check that this works for them? Been having some weird issues when viewing on a PC.

Also would like to know your thoughts on the design, some friends I've been showing it to say it's not very intuitive.
imo your portfolio should be the home page, people shouldn't have to go and click a button for it to come up instead of your blank homepage

i'd agree with this; other than that, it works fine i believe

The first photo you have up is an alright photo, but not something I'd put on a portfolio

Too bad it's not your portfolio.
so I just inherited an unopened $1200 New York Institute of Photography "The Complete Course in Professional Photography" for free
It's the 2007 edition so It's a little dated with a lot of info on stuff like 35mm film and developing but yeah
It's like 35 discs and a entire 6 inch stack of books and magazines and stuff
I only have a Nikon D3000 with 2 lenses and I take pictures in my backyard what do I do oh my god I'm so overwhelmed

Make the best of what you've got, and try new things.

tbh i find photos of homeless people, especially if all the photographer did was take the photo and walk on, kind of exploitative and a bit cliché
it's one thing when photojournalists take pictures of people having a generally shit time in life to document and tell their story, but when it's someone doing it for the sole purpose sticking it on their flickr then it's a bit eh
[editline]30th June 2013[/editline]
at the same time i guess one could easily argue that photojournalism is more exploitative, since people there are actually getting paid cash to take photos of other people's suffering, and those photos are then used to make more money
[editline]30th June 2013[/editline]
i'm not sure where i'm going with this
fine, don't accept friendly advice
I don't think our contrast in experience allows you to give me any useful advice.

From what you've posted here, which is next to nothing, I am assuming very little. I am very open to be proven wrong.

As in content? I very rarely post because I consider lots of my stuff not good enough to post, but that doesn't mean that it's all bad
You're not making a point here mate, please detail your photographic experience to put us all in our place.
