Hey, I recorded a song with a few of my friends. We were in a very loose band that seemed to get occasional gigs, but we only ever recorded one song. This is it. I'm singing, whistling and on percussion. It's a little silly - like most of our stuff - and was really just to have fun and get free beer at pubs. That is a great song man, really whimsical and easy to listen to.

i choose 2. 1st seems a little too saturated. 3rd looks a tad too dark.
somewhere between 2 and 3

finally got the "broken" zorki 4 i was gonna use to get some parts to fix my other one turns out it's not even broken, it's got the same problem as the first one (needs cleaned and lubricated), and is actually in better overall condition :v:
Back in the swing of things. Found some time to work on my camera again. Ground glass is ground. My lungs are now lined with Aluminum Oxide.
So i'm off to Shanghai on monday, then Suzhou the following week. SO EXCITE.
just found this while looking through the I Shoot Film group (NSFW) http://www.flickr.com/photos/93104681@N04/8545909762/in/pool-ishootfilm/ wat [editline]13th March 2013[/editline] also the comments
Getting some serious photographic withdrawal, haven't been out of the city since new year. Going skiing again on the weekend, gonna risk it and bring my camera with me and get some mountain action. Thinking of getting an Nikon 18-70mm used as a cheap mid zoom so I don't break my other lenses while out in the wilds, thoughts?
it would make a good lens. nice range and such, and snow is usually bright enough to warrant stopping down so you'll be good there too. personally I would say go for the 18-55mm though, it may have worse build quality but it should be cheaper, and it's newer so it will be the optically better lens. Most importantly it's smaller, and if you are hanging the camera on your neck any weight reduction will make a huge difference. I went snowboarding with my nex, wasn't as much of a hazard as I thought it would be, just don't push yourself too hard and fall backwards if you feel out of control.

The 18-55 has a plastic mount and I've already bent the mount of one :v:. 18-70 has a metal mount, it's f/3.5-4.5 instead of f/3.5-5.6, as well as faster and quieter focus. Putting the two against each other, I think the 18-70 is better, just doesn't have VR, which hardly matters since I'll be using in the day time. Plus, I'll be falling on what looks like a lot of powder snow that's coming in, thankfully.
Backpack would work well, and powder should also help significantly. And yeah the build quality will be better surely, I was just thinking if it was a toss of a lens you might as well go cheap but if you want it to last then the 18-70 will be better surely

Oh then definitely the 18-70. Second hand isn't bad though, I have yet to get burned on a deal. Just find a dealer with good feedback

Is club photography a decent paying gig? I'm trying to graduate uni in December so I've been thinking about getting a salary position and using photography as a side income. Club seems alright because I don't drink and approaching people who do seems lower stakes than other people stuff. Just curious about it
nice rack on that
-sorry, that was stupid. snip'd-
Facebook doesn't 'corrupt' people. Sounds like he's just expressing his love for his dogs, try not to be so insecure about it.

Shame I don't get many gigs though.

Just curious about it
Club photography is great fun, but you don't really make much from it unless you do 2-3+ nights a week, or higher paid nights. Standard pay here in London is generally £50-£100 per night. As per when it comes to approaching people, I started doing club work about 6 months ago and now do usually 2-3 nights a week and in all that time I've maybe had 15 people who didn't want a photo. I think you should def give it a go and see how you like it, there isn't really any scope for making a lot of money however, unless you befriend big artists and dj's and promoters etc and get into more live performance shooting like festivals and big gigs
So i'm off to Shanghai on monday, then Suzhou the following week. SO EXCITE.
So yeah i'm leaving tomorrow. Anyone got any advice for me on china?
That feeling when you're very happy about two photos you just took, and then you realize you forgot to advance the film. :suicide:

But I will look into it thanks for the advice guys!

My metal water bottle got wrecked with dents from falling, but my camera and lens survived without any problems :v:. It was actually the camera that dented the metal. Did get water in the lens again though.
Not very happy. Some dickhead stole my portable hard drive. It contained every take from all 21 episodes of news I've shot this year. Which I had planned on making a bloopers reel for the intermission during our schools film festival. Along with that was ALL the templates and projects for everything I needed to make the news. There were some important files on there too. It took me weeks to get a system set up so I could just input certain clips and change some info around then it'd be ready to go (Specifically weather) each component could be changed and everything. UGH! And to top it off my entire Video resources folder was on there which included all my action essentials and video copilot stuff. (That's not as big of a deal since I can easily redownload my purchases, but it was all nice and organized.) It pisses me off.
