The only reason I'm debating it is because it another thing to look after and worry about. Not to mention I don't exactly have much space to store it.
If you don't bring it you will regret it.
Feeling my section is a lot more organised now. Let's see how long I can keep it like this...

Got a little road trip planned up through the mountains with some buds.
Yeaaaaa

Gonna knock me back into the photography groove.
Good, I miss your photos dearly

Keep your eyes on the clock don't fuck up that film!!
Didn't know it was film, makes sense now. The colors and shots are all so crisp, I really like the cinematography.
But are the many colour filters added in post or at the set?
Film was developed fine and dandy, scanning the bad boys now for you all to enjoy. My tutor was so impressed with how well exposed they came out when I told him that I have never used a light meter for any of my film photography.
Ugh family photos are not my thing....wow
casually reminiscing my Venice trip and I get to this photo:

nothing out of the ordinary right? Wrong, I never even noticed the ominous looking elderly woman at the far end of the alleyway.
Got back from doing load-out at a Chris Tomlin concert today, was a really cool experience being able to do a concert load out. Learned how to organize things, take down a massive LED screen, and just go around opening keycode entry doors is super cool.

Took down the screen, all the lights, and everything on stage.

Everything in boxes (that's only about 1/3 the stuff, not including the big pile of wood in the background)
jesus that's so much stuff
had a full day doing studio portraiture with Mamiya 645's, my medium format craving has been satisfied for now..
i'm gonna try book out a 6x6 camera over the weekend and shoot a roll of portra 800. problem is the cost of dev and shit. £10 a roll ugh
fully fallen out with my photography kit supply. they boast about having a shit ton of expensive lenses which they do yes, they have some really nice tilt shifts and nice fish eyes and a few huuuuge telephotos - cool stuff right? went in today cos i had a brief to do, got a 7D out and didn't want to use the 17-80 or whatever it is kit lens so I asked what primes they had - namely any 35's or 50's - as I prefer primes to zoom lenses. "No 35's sorry but we do have some 50's". Great, I thought, get a nice 50 1.8 at least or possibly a 1.4!
Nah pal. Nah. The only primes they had were Canon 50 f/2.5's with horribly sticky manual focus. I just keep thinking to myself that they bang on about the fact they have £300,000 worth of kit but it's all tied up in the specialist lenses like the fisheyes and tilt shifts which to me are almost gimmicky... Idk, maybe I expect too much from them but to be honest, getting ten 50 1.8's and/or four or five 1.4's and then getting three tilt shifts instead of five would be a better use of the budget.
That's why you gotta built up your own kit. My photography class only has Nikon D3100 and their only amazing lenses are fish-eye and a few expensive zooms. Do you have any idea how much that sucks??
Talking about gear, I just put some fresh batteries in my Olympus OM10. It works a charm, shutter is fine just as the viewfinder.
but my digi kit is a panasonic m4/3rds with a kit lens, really dislike the camera now to be honest which is why I shoot film mostly but with them bragging so much about all the kid they have it just kinda seemed a bit odd that they have the gimmicky and not-so-useful expensives lenses and not even keep up to date on the "standard kit" which is way more useful to everyone.
there's just something about the "jack of all trades" lenses like the 17-80 kit that I really don't like
Yeah that really sucks, tilt shift and fisheye lenses are about as specialist as you can possibly get.
i know man, and we have like 5 of each! whats the point?! i guess its 2artskool4me
the solution

People probably just use them for the weird shift effect, but it takes a lot of practice to be able to tilt and shift properly for architecture. I can see a reason for having a few (to learn how to use them without having to drop money on one first) but 5 is really crazy.
And for the "jack of all trades" zooms, they are better at wider angles, and mostly useful stopped down quite a bit. Not a bad lens to have if you are doing landscapes where the DoF is pretty deep anyway, but for artistic applications they are decidedly limited. Maybe check next time if they've got a 17-55 2.8, those are really good lenses. I use my 16-50 2.8 zoom way more often than I use a 50mm 1.4 for instance (on crop anyway), the added wide angle is great and the DoF isn't drastically different.
Theoretically, with a sharp enough lens and enough megapickles, you could shoot a little wider than how you want the final image, then tilt and shift in Photoshop and get the same sort of results.

it's very possible, but won't get the same results exactly as software won't match the same image quality as real shift lenses. software has definitely made them more of a niche product though. but you can't shift in software, which is useful in getting the correct focus while tilting from my understanding

not allowed to, they don't trust film students
All they do is sleep, drink and do drugs anyway :P

If it makes you feel any better I don't trust you either
