What should I write in my cargo collective application? How strict are they? Do they expect an essay from me or is a simple "i am a photographer and wish to display my work here yo" enough?
If it makes you feel any better I don't trust you either
ah it's okay

Just say you feel like you need something more professional than relying on social networking sites. Include a link to your flickr or whatever.

I always worry that I choose the wrong ones. I wish I could have like 10 of the best art critics to go through them and pick the best. But then I would probably end up with nothing :v:

[editline]26th October 2013[/editline] Also, I asked bopie for an invite, but he just said to send them an e-mail linking my stuff and they accepted. I don't think it's that much of an imperative that you need a reference.
Tell me about it. [editline]26th October 2013[/editline]
I narrowed it down to 98. I want to cut it down to ~50. The problem is that my photos are pretty random. Every photographer seems to have series of solid related photographs.
Every photographer seems to have series of solid related photographs.
That's your perception mate. Every photographer shoots shite.
Every photographer seems to have series of solid related photographs.
Your photos are already related by default, they are yours - part of your body of work. You could start out with 'portfolios' of single images, and then move on to doing projects, or categorizing things in periods of time/places of your life. One of the biggest things I have noticed is how 'in the time', I pick certain types of photos, while the others I completely write-off. Months, or even years when I go back and look at the photos I didn't like before, I usually come across something I really like that I had completely ignored. It's weird how quickly your perspective on past events/places in your life can change. It took me a bit to pick up on this and used to delete a lot of photos, now I hoard every shot no matter what I think about it. I think this is one of the most important pieces of photo gear I ever purchased.
http://cargocollective.com/v01d/ My first attempt it's currently a trainwreck I dont really know how to sort and select them. I don't want to put more than 10 photos in a series yet I did it with "things". I am too tired right now to think about it. any advice? also i reached my project limit (12) welp

Plus I hate my digital camera and only now, after about a year an a half of using digi maybe twice, am I being slowly brought back into the digi game with the increase in kit at my disposal (cheers uni<3)

Nothing wrong with having more than 10 per thing.
Back from Pompeji where I was allowed to TOUCH a painting that has been under rock and soil for aroun 1800 years. We worked in the Villa Of The Mysteries and where doing measurements on the very pictures you see in the article. [editline]28th October 2013[/editline] Actually we had so much work there I barely saw the rest of Pompeji but had 5 hours to walk around it on the last day, hit sunset and blue hour. Now I need time for the pix but I have exams right now.
Scanning in some film again, probably going to scan 1 more roll after this because I can't stay at school too long :(
Hurricane in my hometown and on my way home I saw this petrol station sign and I couldn't help but take a pic of it: IMG_3135.jpg von Terranigmus auf Flickr
I was reading an old maddox article and apparently he runs the US now:
Police officers will be replaced with a strike force with the ability to tap into your phone conversations, spy on your Internet connection, arrest you for no reason or any reason at all, and interrogate you behind closed doors during secret hearings. It'll be awesome, and if anyone complains, they will be labeled unpatriotic. The beauty of it is that people won't protest because protesters will be victims of police brutality. The reason I say victims is because the punishment for the crime of brutalizing police would be murder. It's the criminals who need to be brutalized, not the police.
http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=regressive

The only thing that kind of bothers me is the amount of shaking at some points, I'm guessing the 1.6 crop is the biggest culprit here. Are you shooting out of the hands or do you have a tripod/DIY contraption? Maybe a wider angle prime can help a lot?

fully in that zone of barely taking/wanting to take images :( although, I do have like 3 rolls of 35mm and 3 rolls of 120 that need processing - one of the 35's has photos from my venice trip, I'm sure of it
Howdy guys. I need to expose myself to lots of war photography for my upcoming role in the army, any good sites\magazines\artists you could lead me to? that would be wonderful. And yeah, I'm not lazy, did my own research but I'm 100% this thread has some gems and insight to lend.

Yeah I just finished Nachway's film. I'd love to hear more names if anybody knows
