Cheers mate.
aw fuck
contact the police, at least just ask them if anything can be done by them, since this guy has basically stolen your lens

Sounds kinda shady to me.
The address you sent it to, google it and see if the buyer was dumb enough to actually order it to his address. If it isn't his name check if you can find the name of the people living there and try to see if you can find them on facebook and check if they are friends with the buyer.
If this is the case collect everything, make screenshots and send it to Paypal.
Stalking people on the internet 101 :eng101:
Paypal gave me window on how long it should take for them to investigate it with "the authorities".
If nothing happens, I'm going to the police, of course. This would make the third open case I'm part of right now .
The address exists, in some shitty part of London. I'm thinking the buyer was dumb enough to send it straight to his own address, even if he misspelled it. It's something to go on, since it was confirmed delivered in tracking, so someone must be there.
google street view it
I've 100% stopped shooting digital for personal photography, now only seem to shoot film. Not a conscious choice, just seemed to have happened over the past few months. Don't know whether to be happy about this or not.

I don't know how the delivery system works in the UK but here in Switzerland you usually have to give a signature when you deliver something and they take your name. It might be possible to call the delivery firm to get a copy of the confirmation paper.
Did you try to google his ebay name? It might give you some information about other online accounts or if other people already got scammed by him.
Paypal finished their investigation and gave me the money back.
I'm going to get a Nikon 16-85mm, since it looks like I'll be stuck with my crop D90 for a long while longer.
glad everything worked out, i was worried for you
you'll love the new lens

Thanks. Haven't been using the 50mm for portraits or high speed much, same with the 10-20mm wider than 15mm or so, so figured a wide zoom would do. Plus, it has VR to make up for the high speed of the 50mm.
Pretty excited.
Man, I've been posting too much today.

awesome!
fuck that guy
Another option for me is the Nikon D7000 w/ 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens with 2x 8GB cards and a camera bag for $1099 at Costco (Canada). The only reason why is because it's Costco and it's nearby and I go to Costco with my family often and it has a 90 day money back guarantee (which is really good and better than almost every other place).
I've read some reviews and videos (DigitalRev) and it does compare well with the Canon 7D. The Nikon D7100 came out recently with some more features and good stuff. All are still the affordable APS-C sensor. The body only costs less than the 7D (probably can't get the 7D either due to body only price $999-$1199) which costs around $800. [insert it costs less which must mean it's shittier than the one that costs more money] It only has 24fps 1080p which is the only thing I'll use anyways. I also won't be able to use Magic Lantern unless there's a Nikon equivalent. And Nikon has always been behind on the video side on DSLRs.
Also, all of my friends are Pro-Canon, everyone has a fucking Rabal (T2i, T3i) or some other Canon DSLR with Canon lenses and shit. [insert ignore fanboyism] although it would be good to do comparisons and shit. Being able to use their lenses (assuming those all won't work without an adapter and I probably won't get an adapter) and batteries (if I get a T2i+) is kind of a plus.
I've felt the camera and the lens at Costco but never really had the chance to get it powered up and used it because they don't provide a live demo with a power supply and I can't stick a battery in it because the anti-theft thing is in the way. It isn't too heavy, the grip feels nice and big and I can actually grip this well since it's a larger body than the usual Rabal bodies. There's the top LCD which I love, not sure if the lens that was demo'd 100 percently new and such but it felt relatively smooth in terms of zooming and focusing. I didn't entirely check but I think the kit lens focus is the same as Canon lenses but I know for sure the zooming is the opposite which would take getting used to since I'm always using Canon lenses. [insert it's not that hard to switch and you should be more adaptive when using different cameras and lenses as a photographer, and stop bitching about the little things].
I know it's a camera that I will enjoy this camera nonetheless but there's things like lack of flippy screen on cameras such as the Canon 60D (which I could also get, still just as old but with same body, same-ish features, worse AF points, same pro body style, magic lantern avaliable, Canon lens access, costs more than the D7000 when comparing the specs and features...). I'm both a photographer and film maker, tight on money but huge on specs, features and stuff.

made my day ~ cheers guys :)
Got some more ink done today with a good friend of mine, was sweeeet! but when I was chilling with my artist after I decided to shoot some film shots of her designing a tattoo but my shutter decided to not fire. The film is wound on and everything is set to shoot but when I press the shutter release, nothing. Same thing happened to my last camera, my Carena CX-300. I really hope I don't have a pretty looking paperweight now, I really love that camera.
:(
Got a (programming) job in melbourne! will be moving over there in about a months' time - pretty damn exciting!

crying at just how accurate this is
Hooley mooley I just saw the shining in Theatres, it was the first time I ever saw it and wow was that movie filmed so incredibly well. Every single shot was about the best it could possibly be. I was really impressed by the cinematography.
^^ Kubrick exhibit at LACMA, worth checking out. It leaves in like a month I think.
Wish I could go, a little far for me at the moment unfortunately :( but thanks for the idea <3
Did you see it?

I did mate. Really want you to see it.
I'm going again, I'll get some snaps for ya.
That would be amazing! Thanks so much man. I could try and get a group to go for like a day or two, I would love a rad road trip to kick off the summer.
If you do make it out here, let me know! I could be your ~tour guide~
Wow I haven't taken photography seriously In like a year now. Been smoking too much green oops. Quit now, time for a fresh start. Anyone got some ideas how I can get back into it as a serious thing again/tips on how to keep shooting/learning regularly?

Just go out and shoot instead of asking how to get out and shoot.
