I got invited to a group for gay photographers to post film photos only and somehow it feels like a fetish
flickr is weird esp those weird comment award badges that mean nothing

In the case of that picture, it's over-contrasted and over-saturated and on top of that the main reason it sucks is that its composition is awful. Normally I wouldn't care and think it's some snapshot and that's fine, but it's the fact this guy is adding to a Leica circlejerk. His name is Noctilux 51 ffs.
i dont think it's easy to ignore technial limitations if the gear costs one five zero zero zero point zero zero dollars
i dont think it's easy to ignore technial limitations if the gear costs one five zero zero zero point zero zero dollars
The body only is. The lens is like ten zero zero zero zero alone.
its handmade in germany so all the photons that hits it are enhanced in every aspect
As far as I know they are only assembled in Germany. The bodies come from Portugal, the sensor from Belgium (previously Japan) and the electric parts from (china?). But it's not like the "made in Germany" means anything. If you browse the Leica forums you will notice that Leica has quality control issues and that people regularly send their gear to get serviced.

will be making my first attempts at film photography tomorrow, pretty excited about it
you're gonna do great dude, already putting out awesome stuff! really looking forward to what you come up with
Nice what's gonna be ur first roll?? Mine was a roll of Tri-X 400
Back from my reasearch vessel cruise. It was great and I ate a lot, the ship cook made warm meals 3 times a day I gained 3 pounds in one week. Also at one time the fucking salt water that was spraying on the deck was freezing because we had -8°C outside and the crew of the ship wouldn't let us go out because of danger and they lost a crewmate 2 years ago. You can still see our track(Heincke) here: http://expedition.awi.de/ [editline]1st February 2014[/editline] Sadly we only could work 4 out of 7 planned days due to bad weather.
Nice what's gonna be ur first roll?? Mine was a roll of Tri-X 400
a roll of ilford hp plus 400 that my dad had lying around and gave to me where do you buy your film zeemlapje? seeing as we're in the same area
I mostly buy my BnW film from http://www.calumetphoto.nl/ I go to their store now and then because Studenten OV :) If you want cheap colour film Kruidvat has AGFA Vista+ 200 which is about 2.50 Euro for 36 frames, with those manual SLRs you can sometimes get 3 frames extra. [editline]1st February 2014[/editline] Kodak Portra owns cheapo colour film though but it's 2 to 3x more expensive
wow lone survivor 11/10 its like black hawk down but way better and way more emotional i probably would have cried like 3 or 4 times but I was sitting next to my dad so I held it in
I was looking online for a good camera to take pictures of / record things like family stuff/random outside stuff. Closest I got is a Nikon D3200 but even then I don't understand the terminology for cameras so I cannot gauge it's specifications to see if it's a good camera for me. I'm looking for a camera that can take high resolution photos (like ~20MP), and can quickly start recording or taking pictures so i can't miss anything I deem important. And of course moderately priced. I don't know about cameras much at all so I'll ask a few other camera related questions too is optical zoom dependant on the camera you buy or the lense you use for said camera? how does shutter speed affect an image? is it basically exposure time? [editline]sd[/editline] also I would want a really nice lens too, but again I don't know what to look for.
uhm, just as a starting point, 20MP is more than enough for 90% of photos, so that shouldnt be an issue. If you want to switch from picture takey mode to video mode quickly you would either have to be shooting in live view already (preview from the rear LCD screen= more shutter lag and slower autofocus), or you just flip/hit the live view button and then start recording which isn't that lengthy of a process. Optical zoom is lenses since the lenses do the zooming. shutter speed is yes, exposure time. it is how long the sensor is taking in light to form the image. a faster shutter speed will lower exposure and freeze motion since the sensor is only exposed for thousandths of a second. uh, "nice lens" wise most lenses will be fine for what you do, but a nice lens is a pretty general term and could be a 50 year old lens that costs $75 or a brand new 15 pound lens that costs $7500. I would imagine an 18-200mm would cover anything you wanted to do.
