He's quitting photography
so this is the end of bopieism??
Why would you sell ? Is this some kind of kneejerk reaction?
if you look at the changing landscape of photography, it's pretty easy to see that the medium is really fading out of what it used to be. technology is just changing rapidly, and the way we do things now is not the way we will do them even a year from now. financially it's just not sound to invest in, as soon as organic sensors and liquid lenses come out (slated for 2016 by Kyocera) then that means most everything we have now is basically useless because the lens can change to be any focal length it needs.
organic sensors
what
liquid lenses.
what what

if you knew anything about photos u would realize we are nearing the 'singularity.' This is a point where all possible pixel combinations have been created and there is no longer any point in taking phhotos. RIP

rip in piece bopie
Wow
Once this stuff leaves the medical arena it's going to be an extremely different playing field. Lenses you never thought were possible will be easy, like a 24mm f1. paired with organic sensors the entire optical field can be made to have the same sharpness over the field, or changed for artistic effects. the tech is really limitless the only reason i haven't sold my stuff to prepare for the new tech is because it's not really worth much anyway (why i use cheaper equipment). i've dumped most all of my life savings into stock in sony and kyocera, the two companies slated to come out with the tech first. it's a big gamble, but it could pay off in spades.
this obviously never going to happen, it's the same thing with music but isn't there an art installation that is displaying every combination of pixels?
I tried working out how many combinations there'd be for a 100 by 100 image using web colours and the result put in perspective was more milliseconds than there have been since the start of the universe, millions of universes more.
oh wow haha!
"Even this version will take approximately 46,138,562,195, 008,110,600,774,753,760, 087,749,172,181,189,607,929, 628,058,548,517, 099,604,563,033,706,075 years to complete," CoDesign quotes Thompson as saying. "By way of comparison, the universe is 13,770,000,000 years old."
http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2013-02/07/every-possible-photograph
that's pretty weird to think a computer will randomly generate every single world press photo ever made or even weirder a perfect portrait of my face
and a perfect portrait of your face wearing an eye patch
that's pretty weird to think a computer will randomly generate every single world press photo ever made or even weirder a perfect portrait of my face
If the world press photos are 10*20 pixels or whatever it's using.
oops i somehow skipped over that paragraph
For me, my photographs will never be boring, since my friends who I do photograph will never be boring either.
Greyscale too, crazy to think how long it would take using colour.
