this has a lot of feeling in the changes, it's really thought provoking with the descending low end. it sounds like it could be part of dungeons of dreadmor
Thanks! I've never played that game but it does look like a lot of fun, It makes me glad you say those things because I tried to go for a dungeon-crawlerish feel with the track, especially the chord progression :)
The melody you play in the highs is incredible. It fits over the lows so well. You could use more runs in between each crest in my opinion.
A thousand thanks for those very kind words, it makes my heart race just reading your kind comment :) I can agree with you on make having more runs between each crest, I did try to do that but I couldn't get it to properly fit in, I'm thinking of getting kontakt 5 from native instruments where there's some orchestral instruments such as strings and timpanis, maybe I can get it to work then. :)
New beats:
First beat: The kick drum has a pretty neat tone to it, is it homemade sample? I really like the plucked string and how glitchy the other instruments are, especially the windbells or whatever it is! I can totally hear a rapper with a voice like Kid Cudi rap over this, good job! Second beat: A softer kick might've done the trick on this one, there's something incredibly soothing with the organ-ish instrument that lays down the chords, and the bass I can assume sounds really thick and heavy when played on some good soundsystem. I think you had a nice thing going with the plucked strings and windbells in the first track and I think if those were heard on this track as well it could be a really cool beat! Third beat: It sounds like this could be a bridge or chorus for that first beat, nice addition with the tambourine and the percussive instrument, sounds like a bongo drum being tapped on. Nice with a cymbal added too, adds a lot of flavour :) Fourth beat: This one sounds like an Usher track, or maybe even R kelly? It sort of continues where the first track left off, with lots of small things colouring the whole beat. Do you have someone who can rap over these beats? Because at least the third I think could really hit it off with someone who has a nice mellow voice to rap over it! [editline]11th September 2014[/editline]
I can't say that in the second track it's Xzibit, though I don't know who it is, the acapella used was obviously from DMX ("X Gon' Give it to ya"), and that acapella's song was used in that Rick & Morty episode (the one with the Devil's cursed object store, I mean the ending song where [sp]Rick and Summer get ripped as hell and beat the Devil to a pulp, later to some douches like the Westboro guy and the skinhead[/sp]), along with the intro sample. The original was more based on Freddy got Fingered (the ending credits music, "The Real Slim Shady", I think, from Eminem), that's why it's called "sausagecore". Mostly I pretend to maximize the pumping of the kick drum, so it sounds heavier on headphones. I mostly listen through headphones a lot, and I like a lot the sound of heavy kick drums, specially those that have that "boooooom" effect. Other samples I used in the second one are Rammstein's "Pussy", in the remix, I also used sound effects from Doom and TF2, and the obvious airhorn, just for the lulz. There's not a real volume automation there though, all of it is due to a bunch of tweaks in mastering. I hope this informs you a lot. I'm looking forward to produce similar tracks.
Had a listen now through my monitors and the kick definietly sounds a lot better in headphones, it doesn't sound bad in my monitors though, just different, when the boom of the kick isn't as apperent because of how my room sounds. It definietly informed me, thanks for telling me! I love hearing how other musicians produce their music, it really adds a whole new depth to the tracks when you have a map over it. :) And I look forward to hearing more tracks from you, I don't listen to a lot of trap usually so being able to hear as well produced trap as you produce is really really awesome. [editline]11th September 2014[/editline]
I don't really have anything bad to say about this, it's so good.
My smile is so wide I'll probably strain it, thank you a thousand times for such kind words! It really means a lot! :)

The only thing I can think of to improve is maybe making the default volume on them a LITTLE bit louder. Here's a few of my fancy, canned red beets. I'm pretty new at this, so any things I need to improve on in general would be awesome to know. [editline]12th September 2014[/editline]
New beats:
This song reminds me of a band called, "Hundred Waters". Check this song out: (warning: the music video is very strange) Great work!

Even though you were naughty and didn't give feedback, I'll give you some since you haven't gotten any yet. That dude shouting throughout the song doesn't really fit that well imo, but the idea of having a panning, delayed vocal sample does. The track is pretty relaxed (perhaps to the point of being boring - it is short so it's not too bad) but the overall vibe and melodies are quite nice. :) Haven't posted in one of these threads before Fun 80s shit Newest track, don't have much feedback on it. Glitchy/dnb.
Newest track, don't have much feedback on it. Glitchy/dnb.
I love the part at 1:30, but it gets repetitive at 2:50 where the dnb rhythm comes in. As much as I love dnb it feels a bit out of place.
I decided to use a completely different chord progression, this one has a main part with the chords E C G B. :)
This is super beautiful, I love when the thread gets inundated with stuff like this. Is this recorded with an actual piano or some sort of VST? If so which one?
holy shit, gerran? you're back! me too! I seriously can't wait to hear what you're going to make under Ghostclub. What you got going on right now feels very "album"esque, in a sense that it feels like it would flow well into another song, or progress into something huge. Great work. I just finished a hell of an experiment of noise I just realized how late I am with the response. Sorry.
Hey, good to see you back man. Where did you end up? Also this track is dope and I love it, good stuff. You've improved a lot since you've disappeared so i can assume you've kept practicing or something I did this in the last 2 hours and now I am going to post it here
Wow, thanks! It fills me with so much joy reading comments like this! :) I've done the piece with the VST TruePiano, an absolute blast to use and it sounds really, really good! A lot of things one can twiddle with to get almost any sound they can wish for with a piano, going from muddy and warm pianos to shrill and really bright ones. I 100% recommend it to anyone who uses piano in any step of their musicmaking process, it really is that great.

Very chill, easy to get lost in it. Guitar goes well with the track, I'd put some more reverb or delay or something to get a more atmospheric dreamy sound but thats just me. I'm pretty new to producing music and I've definitely got a lot to learn but this is probably the only track that I would consider finished (composition wise atleast.) I know it's pretty basic but feedback and ideas would be pretty coo.

[del]So my band wants to release a demo. We've decided to take three tracks, buy a preamp, then record it and mix it ourselves...that means getting me(drummer [!]) and the first guitarist to do it. This is a WIP of a almost finished instrumental of one of the tracks. I am aware that the guitar in the intro is a bit messed up. Will get fixed soon, sorry. What do you think? [/del] I'll try again
Are you serious mate? You clearly didn't read the title, and posted right below a reminder of the thread rules.
Sorry. I'm kinda not English here, and doing my best. From what I knew feedback was just an information about the topic. The more people I ask the more definitions I get, so I end up pretty confused. [del]Someone said it's an opinion about something you posted so to me...the mix needs some edits in the eq (like the quitar in the outro), but I'm not sure they're that necessary. The guitar in the intro like said needs work, and probably should change the columns on the bass (using le cab 2 by poulin).[/del] I think I get it. Brb :v:

We're all mostly here looking for ways to improve and shit, so we just need people to contribute feedback when they expect to receive it. I appreciate that you went back to provide feedback though. People often come here and post their music without helping anyone else out, and give everyone excuses when we tell them the thread rules, that's why we go off like that when it happens.

Guitarist needs to work on his timing in some (but not many) areas but your drumming is on point, good work. This is actually a really good song, there's not much I have to criticise here. Good hustle dude

I'm thinking of giving more meat to the bass. Will probably change the impulse, and maybe decrease the lowcut.
I think the guitar in the intro is just a little messy like you said, and maybe the bass could stand out a little better. Other than that it's really good though, pretty much everything else about it is mixed nicely, and it doesn't get repetitive either. This could be either a good thing or a bad thing to you, or you might not even care, but I thought I'd point out that at 2:12 anybody could sample the drums very easily. I wouldn't do that with anyone's music who uses this thread, or generally anybody that's even underground, but there's always people who keep an eye out for drums to sample.
See this happens often here.
a lot less than it used to, the thread used to just be people dumping their songs here and nobody giving feedback to anyone ever at least now it's mostly feedback with a few people here and there who don't give any it's really bizarre how people don't even bother to read the title though
a lot less than it used to, the thread used to just be people dumping their songs here and nobody giving feedback to anyone ever at least now it's mostly feedback with a few people here and there who don't give any it's really bizarre how people don't even bother to read the title though
Hehe, you guys are welcome ;) As supreme ex-feedback Nazi, I appreciate everyone's tremendous support, I'd give you all a smooch if I could.

I find your guitar is somewhat out of time now and then, just work on keeping your strumming nice and consistent. As well, I find the first 30 seconds somewhat bland, the drums and bass don't quite fill the air in the song for me, so to speak, although individually they sound fine. Try adding some subtle guitar parts in the intro just to add some depth without necessarily depriving yourself of a proper 'drop' later on. Overall not my style of music, but very cool, and not poorly written either.
Another beat I gone n did. I fucked up on that Gorillaz sample I think.
Ooh, cool. Pleasantly surprised by this, although it does get a bit repetitive with the sampling, consider adding some smaller parts to add depth while the samples are just repeating, as the only variation seems to come at the end of phrases, and personally I find it much preferable to have the variation persist through every measure instead of just on the 4th measure of every phrase. A minute in and now I'm a bit bored as it really hasn't made any effort to keep me interested, I'm actually almost growing tired of it by 1:30. It's good for 30 seconds or a minute but you've gotta keep pushing the song forward instead of letting it wallow in the faded glory of the first 30 seconds. Two minutes and I sincerely want to stop listening. Honestly as a musician I'd have at the very least have attempted to change the drum beat by 1:00 in or do something different. I've probably beaten it over the head a bit much now so hopefully you catch my drift. Cool sound, gets too repetitive too quickly.
