Working on a new glitch hop/neuro song, I learned a LOT about sound design recently

Really great overall, lawlavex. The only problem I have with the song is the fact that everything is in the foreground while nothing seems to be anywhere else. (This may be because I have no clue what the genre of glitch hop/neuro is, so it could just be an aspect of the genre.)
Seriously though, you got a really strong drive going on there. I usually dislike this kind of music, yet I found myself bobbing my head to it.

god i need to make an actual song some day
Tried my hand at making some sample based hip-hop, never really done sampling before besides a couple of vocal samples here & there, how can I improve?

My WIP stuff that now sounds way worse than it did when I was making it. Please tell me what's wrong.

The bells sound off-beat around the middle of the track. Maybe it's just me, but I've spotted it several times.
Overall, pretty good.

There's usually not much going on in neurohop/glitch hop, a lot of songs from this genre I've heard usually don't have much going on, sometimes down to just drums and one or two synths. Thanks for the feedback though, it really motivates me to keep working on this.

this is smoove. drums should a bit louder though. other than that this is great for your first try at sampling. keep it up

I made this. I sent it to a buddy so pardon the formalities.
Its alittle funky and the tremolo matches up nicely at points.
getting a little better, I think

how does this song make you feel?
what emotions do you get from hearing it?

i dig this but i think it'd profit from a more consistent beat.. like just lay a nice solid drum loop above it and it'd be a sweet track.
you've like.. got a rhythm and nice chops going, but no solid backbeat to keep it standing.

this is actually the most basic soundbuilding i've ever done
my first three tracks were ridiculously engineered compared to this
i have a thing for lofi synths that are just simple saw/square waves. fucking love that vibe

i'm still having trouble finding inspiration for music
these songs only happen at 4am or later
when i'm all sleep-loopy.

never force yourself into a track. whenever i try to do that it ends up sounding like garbage
every song i've made that i'm proud of has just come to me without much effort because maybe i was just really vibing that one day or i just heard a really dope sample another
or something
let it flow, never force it

So a while ago I found out you can draw your own waveforms in Renoise's sampler, so naturally I made a cheesy little chiptune:

I even gave it a silly backstory as if it's from an actual game :v::
"It's the year 1985. The President has been kidnapped, and it's up to an elite squad known only as the 'cyber-warriors' to rescue him.
Also, it's the apocalypse, so there's mutants and stuff.
Good luck!"

What do you mean sampled dll files? I would like more info into this.
You can import raw data into audacity as audio. I'm guessing that's what he did.

Yeah I basically just imported random dll files as raw in audacity and picked out the sounds i liked. Sometimes they even make synth-like buzzing sounds which are perfect for turning into patches.

I really dig the sound but I think the sidechain of the kick hits way too hard. I would also try a tr-505 kick (basically sounds like a real drum kick) and try some hi-hats, they would give the track a bit more variety. If you do this, try a gated reverb on the drums, they did this a lot in the 80's and the track certainly feels like it's coming from that time. Would be cool, if you show me what the final outcome sounds like!
Here's an EP I'm working on right now.
